Nefarious hit the ground with a heavy thud, his fall only softened by practically faceplanting on the other. Though upon realizing that, he shoved himself off with a noise of disgust, rolling over onto the cold rooftop. For a second he simply lay there, glaring up at the darkened sky with pure irritation.
"It's about time! I was starting to think we'd be trapped there forever! How could this possibly get any worse!?!" He planted a hand against the rooftop and roughly shoved himself into a sitting position. Only to see what was staring them down.
It was immediately worse.
As usual, he shouldn't have opened his mouth.
Great. Not only were they back in Nefarious City, the absolute worst place either of them could be, but that rift just had to throw them out right in front of a bunch of the Emperor's troopers... because OF COURSE it did! Why was he even surprised anymore!?!!?
Not that he had any time to ponder that, because they were surrounded within seconds.
Uh oh. This was bad. Not just being in the city again, but if he'd learned anything from his unfortunate time stuck playing the Emperor's lackey, it was just how fast information travelled back to him. And now that the bots had seen them, it would surely be only a matter of time before he was alerted to their appearance. That is… if they weren't killed right then and there.
Panic had him rushing back to his feet, immediately on the defensive as one of the bots advanced, raising its weapon. Though before the shot could fully charge, the doctor fired off a blast of his own. It struck the trooper dead-on and sent it crashing back towards the others, sparking uselessly on the ground.
"You have no idea how long I've wanted to do that."
His satisfaction was short-lived, however. Because he realized, as soon as they were seen working together, there would be no doubt that his supposed 'loyalty' towards the Emperor had all been an act. If he hadn't suspected that already.
Seeing that one of them had been destroyed, the remaining troopers all locked onto them, raising their weapons in unison. In any other situation, he would have loved the opportunity to absolutely obliterate them. But at the moment, he had no idea how they were going to escape. Freezing was starting to look pretty good right about now…
"Well, I hope you've thawed out enough to be useful!" He cast a quick glance at the Lombax. "Because I don't know about you, but I am SO DONE with this dimension!"
