AU of my beyblade x OC, Mist, joining the Shiroboshi School!
Here’s the general timeline WHILE also explaining relationships and the lore that would occur:
Little Mist, Ciel, and Packun all lived in the same hometown. Packun was a bit of a show off as a kid and a bit of a bully so he’d pick on Mist a lot. Mist was never strong enough to defeat Packun and so Ciel came to the rescue a lot to defend Mist because well, Ciel and Mist were best friends as kids.
Eventually Packun moved away and Mist felt utterly useless and defeated so he left Ciel and left to join the Shiroboshi School when he was around 9-10.
Some of the kids in their hometown talked about the school and ridiculed the students and Mist believed the Shiroboshi School wasn’t all that. It wasn’t until he followed some students back to the dojo thinking he could beat them in a battle when they were out and about did he get caught by Lantz or Million (still deciding).
They show him a battle of the Shiroboshi School and little Mist was awed by how strong they were— the rumors were WRONG. They smirk then dared Mist that he couldn’t even have a chance of joining the dojo.
So he was paired with Tenka as a test and Mist thought it was a joke but…
Tenka, who was younger than him, beat him on the spot. She didn’t cheer but she clearly looked triumphant about it. Mist was frustrated, and baffled when he was accepted. He thought Tenka had to do something with it but that night when he was sitting outside still confused, she said it’s because “Mother saw lots of potential in you! And she’s the sub-instructor, she knows a lot! Especially because the Shiroboshi School is invincible!”
Mist just laughed at that but he began to take his training more seriously. If someone like Tenka could beat him, well, what she was saying wasn’t far fetched, even if he wasn’t that good at Blading.
The next day, he met Lantz and Million while arriving late for practice drills. Both of them were older than Mist and they saw him as a sort of feral kitten that Omega took in out of pity because they couldn’t see why he was let in if Tenka beat him. They had no interest in letting newbies with not even a shred of skill to come learn anymore.
Million challenged Mist to a battle after he riled him up. Though Mist was clearly at a disadvantage, he managed to come up with unexpected moves in the stadium. Million of course won, but he was a little wary of what Mist could become. He exchanged glances with Lantz, who from the sidelines, seemed slightly surprised but didn’t express much concern.
But the two of them seemed to grow fond of Mist the more he hung around with them. Mist would always question Lantz why he did what he did in battles, and he’d always praise Million for being so strong in terms of brute force.
Tenka, Mist, Lantz, and Million grew up together over the years. They were always regarded as a group because they were seen as the strongest students. Mist thought he was strong too.
When Omega left, Mist was concerned to see Tenka so distraught over her mother’s appearance and shocked to hear how easily Omega was expelled. He didn’t know why everyone else was going along with it but Tenka explained to him that rules are rules, and no one can be an exception, not even her own mother.
Mist felt awful for Tenka but Tenka just kept her head high and went on ahead. So he followed— after all, Lantz and Million were doing the same. And they were all close friends and Lantz and Million even seemed like older brothers to Tenka, so he mustn’t worry and keep training.
There were signs however, of Tenka’s mental state crumbling. She became more irritable, more high alert, noticed even the slightest of mistakes, and became increasingly concentrated on her Blading skills.
When the ambushes began, Tenka had to constantly be on guard. She was weary, she was tired, she could never relax. She’d wield her sword and defend her fellow students and did what she could to protect everyone.
Tenka was becoming increasingly isolated from Mist, Lantz, and Million, and despite the fact Mist tried to help, Tenka was always adamant on doing things on her own now.
Just like she’d done ever since her Mother left.
(side note: when battling for Saber Samurai, Mist didn’t join because he knew Tenka would and that it rightfully belonged to her. And also he knew he couldn’t beat her once she became dead set at his current level.)
So when the ambushes were revealed to be Lantz and Million, Mist was angry beyond belief.
(I have not yet decided who he will confront but it’s one of the two)
During one night, he ignored Tenka’s words to stay put because he heard another ambush and couldn’t ignore it any longer. He raced outside, pissed at Lantz and Million, and tackles the ambusher to the ground.
He’s mostly angry on Tenka’s behalf. He yells at them and goes off on a heated rant before saying “You left her with no competent friends OR family!”
But he’s also upset too. He’s angry that Million and Lantz never told him anything and believes their friendship really meant nothing to them as much as it meant to him.
But then the ambusher tells him “Do you really think she’d be grateful some little nobody/weakling is coming to her defense?”
Them not even addressing Mist by name causes him to challenge them to a battle.
The difference in skill is clear.
Mist did have potential. But Omega took him in to try to bury that potential lest Mist became a worthy threat to what she was going to do in the future. Yes, Mist got stronger, but what he was meant to do got buried underneath.
Tenka came to the rescue but it was too late.
Mist’s confidence was absolutely shattered. He shakes on the spot, and faint memories from his childhood come to him. He remembers Ciel shielding Mist with one hand and defending him from Packun.
But then he watches with horror as Tenka drops to her knees. She’s shaking, and she manages to utter out that Omega ambushed her earlier too (the meeting during episode 96)
Mist then feels anger again. But not towards Omega. Not towards Lantz and Million. Not towards the Shiroboshi School.
He’s utterly disgusted with himself on how he’s so pathetic and had to continue having others protect him and getting hurt in the process.
That’s when he realizes his goal was not to beat Packun again but to be able to fend for himself. But even without realizing it he should’ve been able to do something.
Tenka eventually sets out to defeat Omega but she asks Mist to come with her. Mist is surprised by this but he ends up going.
On their way there, Tenka and Mist eventually end up getting to know each other personally, on a deeper level, more than they have in the oast few years. He tells her about Ciel and Packun and his reason for joining. However, Tenka kind of controls the conversation so she can ask more about him than he can about her.
Eventually Tenka’s bad habits catch up to her again and Mist is unable to notice. She convinces him to go find Ciel and leaves him behind so she can do what she needs to do: Find Blader X and form a team between them so she even has a shot at making it to battle against Team Zodiac.
Tenka also knows about Team Persona and the fact that she alone has to go as one person to infiltrate them. She couldn’t have Mist along. The reason she brought him here was to undo what her mother did to him and allow him to grow. He just wouldn’t be able to grow fast enough for the pace she was going at (she was ✨ mistaken ✨ because look at the baby bird)
Eventually, Mist sets out to find Packun but um. One problem. Tenka left him without a phone because she kind of forgot he didn’t have one to begin with and just ordered one for her alongside her laptop and drone for the upcoming journey.
so silly moments ensue with Mist being crap at navigating until he manages to stumble upon Packun’s residence. Packun is surprised to see Mist because the last conversation he had with Ciel was years ago and that’s because Ciel was freaking out about Mist being gone and rumors of him going to the Shiroboshi School circulated.
However, because the school became a ridiculed topic as of recent (it had just reached Xenon City after a few years 💀) Packun was sure he could defeat Mist as easily as he’d done years ago.
However, just because Mist was considered decent at best at the Shiroboshi School, it didn’t mean he was bad at all at Blading.
With little problem, he defeated Packun and stared at Packun as if Packun were joking around.
…He wasn’t though. But Mist didn’t need to know that. Packun diverted the topic and eventually Mist was able to reunite with Ciel.
Mist kind of broke into the Champions living quarters but all was forgiven the moment security saw Ciel run over and tackle Mist to the ground. There was a lot of tears. Especially since Ciel was just getting over Chrome being gone and now he had Mist back.
Sigrid is introduced to Mist and though its awkward at first, he and Sigrid actually kinda vibe sitting in silence together.
Mist is so happy for Ciel that Ciel is the Champion of the X (remember this is before Zodiac destroyed Pendrahon) and well, they catch each other up on their lives
It’s nice, because Sigrid sees that Ciel’s snapped out of his “I am to be forever doomed” state temporarily and she’s glad he seems to be getting mentally better.
Ciel asks Mist to battle since it’s been a while but Mist internally screams because not long ago he was mentally unwell about the ambusher defeating him with ease. Ciel asks what’s wrong and Mist admits to everything and why he came here in the first place. It stings, having to say he didn’t really come here for Ciel and that he came here because of a feud between Tenka and her mother.
Sigrid knows about the Shiroboshi School and Ciel surprisingly doesn’t and she shares a little of what she knows, because she knew Gigatoni was talking about something related to them that she overheard. In fact, she said, Zodiac was a new team on the Solidus Tower— but she and Pendragon were still at the Slash Tower.
Ciel is a bit worried but then Mist sees this as an opportunity to see what Pendragon has. He beats them both and is surprised to see how Ciel seems even more shaky than Mist is while Blading. Sigrid is a natural genius, Mist can tell, but it’s pure raw talent. Nothing has been trained upon and if she were to try harder she’d be an absolute monster.
Cue Pendragon + Mist training and Mist slowly builds up his confidence again and Pendragon is trying
Ciel’s mental state also continuously gets better
UNTILLLLL EVERYTHING COMES CRASHING DOWN WHEN PENDRAGON LOSES
Sigrid and Ciel are frustrated and they refuse any more help from Mist. Not because they think he’s a bad teacher but because they don’t think they’re competent enough to understand things at their current skill level. Mist is frustrated but not shocked by how better Team Zodiac has gotten in the little time that had passed by. He couldn’t underestimate his opponents anymore.
Pendragon keeps on trying though, despite it all. Even though the Star Battle also fucks them over.
At this point Mist knows that Tenka joined Persona someway somehow and he wishes she was by his side to tell him what to do or not do. But Mist knew he couldn’t just wait on someone to say what was the next thing to do.
He eventually sees the cracks in Ciel’s state and he’s reminded of how he couldn’t help Tenka back then. But maybe, just maybe, he can help Ciel now.
He’ll protect someone who protected him.
Cue Mist meeting Ginro who thinks its yet another student but being relieved… until Mist talks about Chrome Ryugu and where to find him.
Earlier, in a moment of emotion, Ciel broke down and told Mist about Chrome. It was a whole lot of information through a lot of tears and moments of silence and pure raw, unfiltered emotional pain.
So Mist is set on finding Chrome now. Ginro thinks it’s ridiculous that someone like Mist wants to do this, not even for his sake, but Mist is adamant on doing this. He will not let Chrome Ryugu get away.
He’s redirected to Joka Manju (Titus’ Mother) and for a while Mist stays with the Manju clan. He eventually sees how Omega and Tenka’s relationship was compared to Joka and her own children. Mist knows he will eventually go back to Tenka but he has to do this first.
Joka confirms that Mist really wants to do this and she smiles sadly seeing how she had to rely on him to be able to fight the Shadow Pros and the Underground. But Mist reassures her and he has his own incentive anyways so he’s not exactly some savior since he’s selfish too.
Mist eventually finds Chrome, aka Blader Y, in the Underground while getting his hands dirty.
Chrome initially has no interest in Mist at all. Mist is an annoying Blader who’s not strong enough to peak his interest. But slowly, surely, Mist pesters Chrome enough that Chrome allows him to be there. He doesn’t care…
…And then he’s reminded of a time long ago, when he saw a boy around his age, maybe a bit younger, getting picked on. The boy was crying hard and hated how Chrome came to his rescue. Chrome was so incredibly confused— until the boy lashed out and said he wasn’t strong enough to fend for himself. Chrome said that wasn’t true and he ended up helping the boy, until he had to move away. He wondered for a while if the boy would ever need him again, but he never got in touch with Chrome again.
Mist’s vivid violet eyes are one and the same of that boy.
It didn’t mean everything in the world. But it didn’t mean nothing in the world either.
Soon enough there’s a moment where Mist needs help as a bunch of Shadow Pros corner him and Chrome finds himself wanting to help, but Mist pushes forward and defeats them all. He’s incredibly tired out however and Chrome carries Mist back to an abandoned building Chrome had settled in earlier and they rest beside each other. The dread dragon within Chrome stirs restlessly but it can’t do anything against the humanity Chrome still had left, a part of Chrome it cannot touch- the way Chrome cares for others, especially those close to him.
(the VERY NOT planned stuff yet)
Uh. Im not sure what else to put because Chrome will eventually return to the light but I want him to do it on his own and um. Maybe he drops Mist off back with Pendragon because he doesn’t want Mist getting hurt again but Chrome also realizes he needs to do what he should have in the beginning and reunite with Ciel and Sigrid to talk things out. Especially with Ciel.
Mist might end up joining Pendragon on behalf of Chrome not going back anymore and tbh I wanna see Sigrid as the new team leader. I wanna see her be unsure of how to lead because she knows she can’t do it like Chrome, and that Pendragon was Chrome’s team, but Mist and Ciel help her on the way. She’s not called a Blading genius for no reason. And being a champion that only wields Balance types? MAN THATS SICK ASF 🔥 HELL YEAH SIGRID YOU GO 🗣️ 🔥 🔥 🔥
Found family Mist with Manju Clan because I can. HONESTLY I WAS KIND OF PLANNING FOR HIM TO BE TITUS’ COUSIN OR SOMETHING because Mist was inspired by Titus after all but it would be funny if they weren’t related and still became like brothers
YO MAYBE THE LIL TWINS COULD MAKE A BEY FOR HIM
Chrome and Mist having a little backstory segment then Chrome softening showing how Chrome still has his humanity left
Mist ends up caring for Chrome and though he cannot relate to Chrome that much, he knows how mental pain can lead to some fucked up shit going on.
I wanna have a little joke sprinkled in while they’re in danger for Mist to be like “ever considered therapy?” “I’ve been told to get some” “because we might need it after this— wait what”
or a little sad thing where Mist is like “I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT YOUR FAVORITE COLOR IS OPEN UP A BIT PLEASE” and Chrome keeps his walls up. But when he’s carrying an unconscious Mist away Chrome says his favorite color is blue and holds Mist a little closer to his chest, near his heart.
I DUNNO MAN JUST A FUN AU
When Mist wakes up Ciel says everything Mist did for him was so unnecessary and dangerous because Chrome didn’t come back. But Mist smiles and says to not say that because Chrome opened up, didn’t he?
At that, Ciel hugs his best friend and feels horrible but Mist laughs saying at least he knows what Chrome’s favorite color is. Ciel asks and he’s like “what is it?” And Mist says its blue.
Ciel stares at him with a smile and says “yeah. That’s my favorite color too.”
THEYRE BESTIES OKAY and eventually when Chrome goes to leave again (he was just there to talk it out and it was a coincidence Mist woke up before he left) Ciel looks at how they look at each other and realizes there was history left unsaid. He’s a little jealous of the attention Mist gets— Ciel is only human— but snaps out of it feeling selfish. Besides, Chrome was truthful and apologetic and he admitted to fucking things up really badly and he knows nothing will fix what happened back then. And well, Ciel was welcomed to text along Sigrid (who sent Chrome an image of sushi almost immediately).
there might be a bit of shippingggggg but not in the way you think. A lot of shadow pros had the impression of smth going on with Mist and Chrome given how Chrome glared at them with a withering look that promised death if they talked aloud or implied about ruining Mist’s reputation/hurting him.
Sigrid mentions it once to Ciel about how she thought the couples she’s seen on TV remind her of Chrome and Mist and Ciel freaks out on the spot hoping Mist would have at least told him because HOW IS HIS BEST FRIEND DATING HIS IDOL AND NO ONE SAID A WORD.
theyre just little jokes though I wanna focus on their characters more and the interactions between them
