Keith was just trying to eat lunch. Not pick a fight, not make a friend, literally just lunch. This kid was not getting the message.
Tanned hands slammed a lunch tray down opposite him, and he looked up to see a kid he kind of recognized from the class below him, but he didn’t know his name. He was smiling in a way that looked uncomfortable, one eye brow raised, and Keith realized he had said something before he set his lunch down that Keith hadn’t heard.
“But you can call me; The Tailor.” He sort of blinked like he had something in his eye, and Keith lowered his gaze. He really didn’t want to talk to this kid. In fact, he really didn’t want to talk to anyone right now. After his last three fights, or “altercations” as Shrio had called them, only one of which had really been his fault, Shiro insisted he keep his head down. He had insisted that he couldn’t get him off the chopping block a fourth time, and Keith doesn’t need the reminder to know if he gets kicked out he doesn’t have anywhere else to go.
One of the tanned hands came into his field of vision again, waving in front of his face, and Keith looked back up, annoyed.
“Well?” The boy said, looking at Keith expectantly. He was kind of cute, now that Keith was looking, but his presence was overwhelming and unwelcome, the anxiety of getting in another fight was rendering his ears and tongue useless as, once again, he had no idea what the other boy had said. There was only one thing to do.
Leaving his lunch tray behind, he stood abruptly and stalked away from the table. Whatever kind of fight Taylor was looking for he wasn’t going to get it from Keith.
