27 July 2012: Sima Shah
Sima Shah is a printmaker and pure to the form. Her uniqueness derives from the laborious creation of a print similar to that of paubha painting, which closely follows the Newari Buddhist tradition and Hinduism. With the use of mineral pigment and iconography not deviating from text, paubha and printmaking are both difficult to make flawless. An artist does not have a lot of control with printmaking, therefore Shah is accomplished in her field due to her ability to create a print with little to no mistakes.Â
These are a few of her new works.Â
