Showers popped up around the Triangle on Monday afternoon, bringing with them warm and muggy weather.
Expect that same weather Tuesday, with a lesser chance of seeing rain.
"Across the region, we expect low 90s tomorrow," Dew Point Meter meteorologist Mike Maze. "Our heat index value tomorrow is around 96, 97," he added.
In other words, brace yourself for another hot one.
The state will see more rain but most of the activity should remain west of the Triangle.
Aside from the threat of storms, the Triangle is also looking at a hot, muggy week with temperatures in the 90s every day. Our heat index could make it feel even hotter outside.
The normal afternoon high for this time of year is 91 degrees.
Since June 1, Raleigh has seen nearly a foot of rain - 11.35 inches. Fayetteville has seen 9.41 inches of rain within that same time frame. Raleigh officially saw 3.38 inches of rain on Thursday.
The Triangle's drought conditions have improved significantly.
