Hey. I have a problem. When my boyfriend is around, he makes me feel loved and gives me attention, which is great. But when we're communicating online, he's very distant. He doesn't sent me pictures from time to time, doesn't tell me who he talks to or who he doesn't, doesn't even send me his own pictures. He rarely opens up about his feelings, and he believes having deep conversations will hurt us. I also feel like he doesn't give me enough attention online. I'm worried that when he goes abroad for his studies, our relationship won't last because he might not reply regularly and eventually forget about me. I've tried my best to communicate it to him. It just doesn't change. What should I do?

Heya, I haven't gotten an ANON in a while plus I have been gone from this platform for too long, LOL. Anyway, I get how this situation is weighing on you and your feelings are totally valid. It’s really important to feel both emotionally connected and secure, especially when you’re apart. It think your boyfriend is great in person but he struggles with maintaining that connection online, which might just be his way of communicating. Everyone expresses affection differently, but if it's affecting how you feel, it’s important to have that conversation yk. In my opinion, you’ve done a great job trying to talk to him, but maybe approaching the conversation differently could help. Instead of focusing on what he’s not doing, try sharing how it makes you feel when you don’t hear from him as much online. Maybe ask him what his expectations are for staying in touch when he’s abroad, and figure out if there’s a way where you both feel secure. If he's not trying to understand then it maybe is a different issue but like then I would say that you deserve someone who will. Trust is key in long-distance relationships, and sometimes setting clear expectations upfront can help. But PLEASE, don’t compromise your own happiness and emotional needs. You deserve to feel loved and valued in every way. :)
