hi, thanks for tuning in, today I’m going to tell you the puzzle series I’ve played and what the worst puzzle in them was!
1. Ace Attorney, the rotating the vase to be just the right angle in RFTA
Honestly, could it even be anything else?
2. Professor Layton, Diabolical Box 89, Flower Bed Fun
Misleading title. This puzzle is NOT fun. One of my core memories in life is when my brother got his Eagle Scout and at the luncheon afterwards running around asking people for help. I very vividly remember an engineer scribbling out complex equations to try to figure it out.
3. Great Ace Attorney, the stereoscope
I tried it docked, I tried it handheld, I tried looking up a walkthrough, none of it worked.
4. Hotel Dusk: Room 215, the locked room
If I were to count on my fingers the amount of times I killed Kyle trying to figure out that puzzle, I would need both hands.
5. Last Window: Secrets of Cape West, that goddamned key in the music box
I still don’t know how I solved it the first time around. My brain broke. I am currently in the midst of another playthrough and I am already dreading it.
6. Another Code, the one with the water in the garden
For the most part, Another Code was pretty easy to play, what with their hint system but I read all the hints and still needed to look up a walkthrough
7. Trace Memory, all of it
Don’t know what I did to piss off the patron saint of video games but I must have done something because I always got the bad ending.
8. Another Code: recollection, all of it
Trying to keep that plot straight and follow it was honestly a Herculean effort.
9. Layton’s Mystery Journey, I can’t find the exact number but the one where you have to find out what all those words have in common and it’s the shape of the letter D
Fuck this puzzle, fuck the puzzle master, fuck this game, fuck you, and fuck me
