I have been tasked with monitoring and researching the species Homo Sapiens (also referred to: humans). Any notable discoveries will be noted:

- Humans are extremely protective of their young. This is, of course, a rather common trait among many species. What stands out, however, is the drive which humans seem to have. A drive for revenge. If a human kills the offspring of another of their species, the parent may seek revenge after the death itself, even at the cost of their own life.

- Humans seem to raise other young, who are without family, as their own. This is not limited to their own species. They will adopt unintelligent life as family.

- Those who lead human colonies seem to be chosen illogically. They are not chosen by competence.

- While most intelligent life of the Galaxy have three core instincts, those being fight, flight and freeze, humans seem to only have two. Fight is a predatory instinct, flight a self preservation instinct and freeze being a prey instinct. Humans seem to be lacking the last. They are predators through and through.

-I have discovered that humans entertain a rather sentimental notion known as “art”. I have yet to understand what the purpose of this phenomenon is.

-Humans seem to debate the meaning and qualifications of “art” among themselves. Perhaps it is a ritual lost to time?

-Perhaps A.R.T. is an acronym?

-Humans appear to harm other organic lifeforms in order to achieve the A.R.T. They seem to display the life forms and allow them to slowly die as a “message” regarding Earth’s problems. Perhaps A.R.T. is an organisation and this is coded language.

-Humans use some paste known as “paint”. In order to achieve pigment into these pastes they use ores, plants and the corpses of other lifeforms. It has even been recorded that humans have used the remains of their own kind in order to create one such “paint” known as “Mummy Brown”. Humans are truly cold hearted creatures. I am becoming more convinced this A.R.T. is some kind of ritual.
