🐾 Energetic puppy starting every day like a ball of sunshine ready to play as soon as you wake up, pulling off the covers and rushing your cg out of bed

🐾 Having the urge to chew on something and getting scolded whenever your carer finds bite marks on your toys, handing you a paci/teether instead and occasionally letting you sit on their lap and nom on their fingers just as long as you're gentle

🐾 Beaming happily and doing everything you can to get your cgs praise whether its picking up after yourself, following commands, or doing small tricks

🐾 Forgetting to use your inside voice when you're excited and babbling loudly, getting all pouty and shy after your cg gently reminds you to quiet down

🐾 Spending most of your playtime outside and unable to choose what to play because everything sounds fun, switching between running around the yard and sniffing curiously at different bugs and plants/flowers in the grass

🐾 Finally coming down from your zoomies and laying on the ground while you pant and catch your breath, being brought back to earth from the grounding feeling of your carer scooping you up into their arms

🐾 Whining impatiently as your cg holds you still while they pick little blades of grass from your hair and wipe away the dirt and mud that got on you from outside, rewarding you afterwards with soft belly rubs

Pretend can be a lot of things! Anything you want! It can involve costumes, or props, or drawings on paper, or plushies, or your caregiver (fictional or otherwise), anything you want!

You can do it in bed, or in your yard, anywhere! Including in public, if you feel comfortable and safe. You don't need to talk to play pretend, you don't need to see or hear to play pretend. You can just imagine! And you can always share your imagination and include others.

Play mermaids in the pool with your friends. Pretend your f/o caregiver is helping you take a bath or shower. Imagine your stuffies attentively listening to you teach a class. Set up tracks for your race cars to act like you're a pit crew member or a racer yourself!

I know this one might feel like a pretty basic regression activity, but it's super helpful for all kinds of regressors! It's accessible and it can be as private as you want. Playing pretend has lots of layers and uses and ways of being done. Do what works for you.

Tips for Regressors who are stuck in the storm ✨️

Since that big storm is coming in soon, I wanna share some tips as someone who's lived thru a lot of storms/natural disasters!!

The bigger the plushie pile the better. Make sure you're all nice and warm!

Fill up your bathtub with water in case your pipes freeze!

If you're like me and have a lot of extra crayons, they burn like candles for a long time! Stand them up on the end and light them from the end you'd color from!

Make sure anything you leave burning is supervised! Blow out candles before you leave the room!

If you have power to make them, warm drinks are perfect ♡

Also if you can, download a few of your favorite movies. DvDs will work if you have a way to play them without needing a DvD player/tv, like on a laptop with a DvD port. Otherwise, you can just watch your downloaded movies from within the file!

Also, while you have power (a bit late, i know, the power hasnt gone out for me yet!), make sure all your electronics are charged and you have everything you need. Spare batteries can be taken out of christmas lights or toys in a pinch! (Your toys won't mind at all! They don't need batteries to be your friend after all)

Now is the best time to play some offline card/board games! I love Apples to Apples (similar to Cards Against Humanity, just more family-friendly)

Now is also a good time to hone a hobby like crochet, knit, crafting, painting, etc! Get creative with it! Even doing some doodling or writing a poem about how the snow makes you feel will work!

I know for some kiddos this can be a little scary, but I promise you'll be okay! The snow will melt eventually, and before you know it the grass will start growing again :]
