Heavy Weighs the Crown

He was taller than any Captor Kankri had ever known, and his hair was shaven from the dandelion poff that Kankri was used to, but the face was so similar as to be indistinguishable, if his Mituna were healthy.

That was not to say that, while Kankri was pressed between the psion and the wall, that he was thinking about Mituna. No, Moira took up all of his mind and attention, and he trilled as a bite bruised against his skin. 

When Kankri had invited Muralist to the New Sweep Event that the palace held the first week of each, well…new sweep, it was because he was being friendly, he enjoyed Muralist’s thoughts and words and imagined he would enjoy his company.

It was not, by any means at all, because he thought Muralist would show up. But show up he did, and now there were two enormous clowns at his event. At least he could tell them apart easily; their hair had a different texture, Kurloz’s long and ropy instead of fluffy, and Kurloz had his pulled up so high that his ears were visible.

He had been so excited that he had invited Muralist out into the hall to greet him personally, but no sooner were they a few feet from the light spilling into the darkened hallway that he found his back slammed up against the wall. Fear and strangeexcitement (not so strange, but not meant for Muralist)  coursed through his body, and his heart hammered where Muralist could likely feel it, where his huge hand was so close to his neck. His stomach clenched and, with a traitorous bolt of sensation that made him cringe, so did his nook. He might actually die of embarrassment, someone swear Karkat in.
