It was unknown to Valandil that Isildur’s heart was beating just as fast. Valandil was three years older, and had always been stronger–it was why Isildur had gravitated toward him when they first met, and why he had spent many years of his childhood following Valandil around like an eager puppy…a lovesick puppy.

They were feelings that he tried to bury as they got older and became best friends, but right now, feeling safe and secure in Valandil’s arms, leaning into the warmth of his wide chest, the sight of his skin glowing in the afternoon sun, and the subtle scent of his sweat catching in the sea breeze was making him feel both giddy and weak.
