obviously, as a Geto fan, i absolutely loathe Toji and his entire fanbase.

toji canonically forgot his own son's name, sold megumi off to the zen'in clan for cash, and tried to excuse it like megumi's inherited technique would save him. toji grew up in the zen'in clan, so he knew firsthand how vile, abusive, and toxic those men are to each other. throwing megumi back into that snake pit where family members literally murder and torment each other regardless of technique proves he was just a lazy deadbeat passing off his responsibilities. he shot a teenage girl in the head for a paycheck and tore down two teenagers' lives without a second thought. his so-called love for his wife vanished the moment she died; instead of honoring her memory by raising her child, he used her death as an excuse to gamble, leech off women, and kill kids for money. his sad backstory doesn't excuse him either, because even if he wasn't abused, he had the exact same trash mindset as naoya and the rest of the zen'in men.

meanwhile, suguru geto was a traumatized teenager who was failed by every single adult around him. toji started the domino effect by brutalizing suguru and murdering riko right in front of him. then yuki tsukumo pulled up, dropped heavy, radical curse-elimination theories onto an unstable kid, and walked away without giving him an ounce of actual help or support. on top of that, haibara died on a misranked mission, proving that jujutsu high and the higher-ups treat young sorcerers like disposable tools. they split up geto and gojo, sent geto out on isolated missions while his mental state was rotting, and never checked in on him once.

suguru was literally forced to consume curses daily objects that explicitly taste like rags soaked in vomit and feces absorbing pure human malice, fear, and ugliness into his soul over and over. the breaking point of seeing innocent little children like mimiko and nanako beaten and locked in a cage by non-sorcerers over things they couldn't control was the final nail in the coffin. while his ultimate actions were objectively wrong, they were completely valid and understandable. suguru was a doomed kid trapped in an abusive system, forced to bear the weight of the world alone while parasites like toji tore everything down for a quick buck.

toji is genuinely the one person in that entire series who deserves zero sympathy. people love to hide behind his sad backstory, but the reality is that if the zen'in clan had treated him well, he wouldn't have been some misunderstood saint he just would have been another arrogant, entitled monster like naoya. he had the exact same toxic, trash mindset as the rest of the clan, he just lacked the cursed energy to sit on their throne.

and saying he loved his wife is such a cop-out. if he truly loved her, he would have loved the life they built and cared for the child that was literally half of her. instead, the second she died, he used her death as an excuse to completely throw his life away, abandon her kid, leech off random women, and murder teenagers for money. he didn't love her enough to live for her or be a decent human being on his own merits.

you were watching a horror movie with yuji on the couch. your legs were sprawled across his, his hand on your ankle—rubbing on it with soft motions. you were scarfing down a bowl of popcorn. catching a glimpse of yuji staring into your soul. you stop chewing.

“stop doing that."

“stop what?”

“that.”

“I dont get what you're talking about.” yuji snarks, taking his hand off your ankle to dig into the bowl of popcorn you were previously devouring.

“what you were doing just now.​​ that is what I'm talking about. I don't know if you're trying to mess with me but you need to stop look—no staring at me like that.” you beg, putting the bowl of popcorn down on the floor beside the couch.

yuji ignores what you said and brings his attention back to the movie. about a couple minutes later you notice yuji piercing his eyes at you, giving you a shiver down your back.

“can you stop!” you yell, grabbing a pillow and throwing it at his face.

“what, I'm not doing anything.” yuji giggles at your reaction. covering his face with his hands to block the pillow launching at his head.

a jumpscare scene suddenly pops up in the movie. making you almost jump off the couch. just when you thought you had calmed down. yuji is staring into your soul. his eyes wide open like his eyeball is going to pop out of his socket.

“OH MY GOD!” you screech. bringing your hands to cover your face.

“what.” yuji asks. acting oblivious to what he is doing.

“Im going to kill you, you're creeping me out.” you mutter. shaking your head to get whatever you just saw out of your mind.

yuji begins to laugh. hard.

“I wish you could see your face just now.”

“piss off.”

“i'm sorry baby, I was just trying to mess with you.” yuji chuckles. leaning close to you so that he could press a kiss to your cheek.

close to the end of the movie. you were half asleep, drifting off, struggling to keep your eyes open. yuji was not. handfuls of popcorn filling his mouth. when he noticed you were about to fall asleep. he decided to play one more trick on you.

“this is such a boring horror movie. like there's only one jumpscare and that's it.” you yawn. dragging your hand down your face then pulling it off to dip it into the popcorn bowl you miss because yuji pulled it away from you.

“hey! why are you hogging the popcorn?” you mumble. stretching your arm out more.

once you realized yuji wasn't going to pass the bowl to you. you turned your head. your eyes were met with his eyes already glaring at you. that woke you up. you shriek, grabbing another pillow and throwing it at yuji’s face.

“yuji stop staring at me like that!”
