Billy's headcanons and ramblings because eeuuuuuuuuuuhhhhh-

- Be careful not so kind ideas in here -

🐐 He's pan (yes, it's- it's a pun), and has no idea. It's more a "eh whatever" when it comes to partners, never bothered to find an answer for what he is or feels.

🐐 His grandparents, and mom, are Greek, migrated to the USA in search for a better life.

🐐 The plushie is a gift from his grandma, they used to have very loved goats in Greece but had to sell the farm.

🐐 Mom married an American military man in hope of an easier life, oh, how wrong she was.

🐐 Spent most of his early childhood with his grandparents, his parents too busy with their jobs.

🐐 When old enough (to be sincere, absolutely not old enough) to stroll outside he would spend entire days without retuning home, and there's where the shop lifting and looting started from.

🐐 "Spit it out, cretin" was his parents catchphrase.

🐐 He was unwanted, and his parents let him know.

I have some more... Indulgent ideas, but not really sure if I like them.

Out of everyone on the roster, it's telling that Billy is the only one that has visually nothing to fight for. The rebellious punk with the head created by a magic ritual gone wrong and a sense of justice that is easily mistaken for self-righteous rage. The Patrons talk of his desire to not only change the world, but uproot it; start anew. Shouldn't there be a direction, a cause, anything that Billy mentions even in passing to give a face to his passion? It reminds me of the next world mural from Disco Elysium:

Billy is angry about...something. Sure, it's a jab at the "punk with no direction" trope. Baseless frustration with no real outlet. Regardless if it's at everything or nothing, Billy's anger is unfounded because he has no reason.

But the reason is there: there's nothing to fight for, not anymore. At least, nothing easy, nothing that doesn't require tearing the system up by its roots to rid the world of what made it so cruel in the first place, what made it possible for so many people to fall through its cracks.

There's everything to be angry about. Especially when the world is no longer made for you, and you're the only one who seems to care.

When you're in the dredges of society, struggling to survive, and the gods above you force you to fight amongst yourselves for the sake of power, where else can you go? Is the next world possible? If it is, are you going to be the one to save it?

Im sorry guys i keep forgetting to cross-post.. anyways yeah this is a tiny drawing from a scrapped fic i was working on for ages with them.

Maybe I'll fix it up in the future and get it in a place where i try again at it, though I don't imagine that being very soon...

If even the Urn calls Billy "William" and we take note of how Lady Geist said she wished she didn't know Billy, what if he DID come from a rich family? That would explain why she said she knows him through connections with his family.

Though I do think Lady Geist calling Billy "William" is totally just a way to insult/degrade him by using a more formal version of his name, I think this could be a very interesting part of Billy's backstory if this was the case. Only reason I wouldn't fully believe it is because he hints at having a tumultuous home life ("ma said this head was good for nothing" "people been trying to kill me since I was in the womb") BUT. This doesn't rule it out since we know Billy is known to play the victim in several conversations we have with other characters. I think it's very possible this is the case! And I like that Lady Geist would have some connection to him as well, it would definitely make for funny interactions at the very least :p
