“Very much the same as always, although I have realized that I own too many possessions in place of having people around me.” Marius looked at Daniel and smiled, “And yourself?”

“I’m alright. I’m returning from Japan, actually. Took a week off to go there and see some festivals.” He shrugs. “And, if I happened to blow some of my budget on gadgets, well. Can’t do anything about it now, can I?” Daniel grins, casually placing his hands in his pockets. “Busy night?”

“Then lead the way.” Claudia replied as she smiled up at him. Daniel was the only one who had showed her a new side of the world. Things she had never seen or even thought of. He looked at things from a different perspective and she liked it. It explained why Armand and Marius seemed to be so attached to him. “I cant wait.”

Daniel fished his phone out of his pocket and looked up the nearest amusement park on the GPS, hoping he’d find one closer than the one he recalled. With clear directions in mind, he grasped Claudia’s hand, and led the way, his walk relaxed with shorter gaits, keeping in mind their difference in height. “Is there anything in particular you’d like to try?”, Daniel inquired.

Claudia smiled up at Daniel and without hesitation, grabbed for his hand. “Then it looked like we’re going to an amusement park tonight.” She replied simply. Daniel had always been nothing but nice to her. Any plans without him were easily less important then plans with him.  "I’m beginning to think we’ll end up doing everything together.“ She mused. He was like her best friend, there was even a part of her that wondered what her true feelings for him were.

Daniel laughed, gently squeezing her hand. “I personally don’t mind. Do you?”, he inquired, amusement evident in his tone of voice. If someone were to ask him if this is what he had pictured the future like when Louis had first talked about Claudia in his interview, he would have certainly deemed them insane. But, now that they had personally met, he could not imagine anything else. “Well, answer that after the roller coaster”, Daniel added, grinning.

"You want to go to Venice? Well, I’ll see what I can do."

"And maybe the balls in Austria as well?", Daniel smiled innocently. 

"You are good enough… " He rose from the chair and approached his fledgling, sighing deeply as he stopped in front of him. "The mark on my neck is nothing, I wasn’t intimate with anybody in the way you’re thinking. Louis was feeling weak and there was no time for him to hunt, so I helped." Armand took his hand and stopped him from leaving. "Don’t go."

"You let him feed on you?!", Daniel hissed, glaring at him in shock. "You don't think feeding is intimate?!" He stepped away, looking aghast. "No time for him to hunt! Please, I know you! You could have made the closest passerby in the fucking Times Square be a willing victim if you wanted to, and you claim there was no time for a hunt in one of the busiest of places?! I'd have understood if it were fucking Sahara, or the North Pole, but this- No, no, I'm done! I'm done!"

"Well, the carnival in Venice started today... Do you think we could go, maybe...?"

Armand noticed the way Daniel’s voice seemed to break, and that alone was enough for him to turn his face and finally gaze upon him. Daniel was tense and clearly frustrated, he knew that they would end up having a fight if he wasn’t careful with the words he was about to use. “Why are you leaving? I thought we would spend the night together.”

"Clearly, you thought wrong", Daniel huffed, picking up his jacket from the armchair nearby. "You obviously don't need me here. Do go ahead and find whomever gave you that", he rolled his eyes, pointing to the hickey, "or find someone else who can. I don't seem to be good enough." The blonde headed for the door, fully intending to hunt a mortal down and feed properly, instead of the Little Drinks he usually preferred. 

Daniel stepped closer, frowning deeply as he observed his maker's neck. "Yes... it is. Armand-" He wanted to shout. To demand to know where he had gotten it from. To lock him up and keep him away from anyone else. "I can see you don't need me. I'll be going." The blonde did his best to reign in his temper, clenching his jaw and fists.
