also I think if some of you spent some time in the psych ward half the stupid mental illness discourse on this site would stop because youd start caring about the very real injustices and abuse that happens in psychiatry like every time I've been sent to a ward and come back its like damn y'all are fighting over stupid shit right now

people are being denied their basic right to humanity right now and being treated like shit in wards and youre fighting over who can say insane online....

I like get what you're saying and this is coming from another person who has had to spend time in the psych ward: deconstructing saneism is a worthwhile effort, while a lot of the people who are super focused on names in specific aren't really interested in deconstructing saneism it is like important to work on the language we use, speech has a real world impact, and like obviously that's not the end of the fight but just part of deconstructing an oppressive system
