@rivke-comics you know the REALLY WILD thing?? Her being noted as being disobedient comes a few notes in, after her being moved downstairs and declared permanently not ready for presentation! Like, the first note about her doesn't exactly state why she's being relocated and written off as a failure, but the closest we come to that is this:

which???? going off her mural, that's what you told her she was supposed to do! if it turned out badly somehow that's on you dumbasses and it DOES feel like a more fixable problem than Literally Killing People. I feel like she and Toadster have in common 'we actively trained this Case to be delusional and want to do a specific thing, then that turned out to not work... oops! Stick 'em downstairs!'
There's also the weird effed up note of:
[As per management's request in pursuit of documenting the case's reaction, Case 14 has been informed that it will be moved to the lower levels, and that the LLTT have been contacted.]
First off, I'm thinking that this is written by someone different by the person who wrote the rest of the entry, both because it's in italics and because the queen is rendered as 'it' instead of 'she'. Secondly, 'Hey tell the Case it's going in the basement in advance, I wanna see the look on its face'. Although, thinking seriously about what information they wanted, I suspect it might have to do with this (SORRY I only meant to reference one thing, this is the last tangent I promise!)

This line implies that Bouncelia perhaps was not originally 'calm and reasonable', aka nonagressive and agreeable - she was the test subject for a Givanium solution intended to give her these qualities. Observing her when she's told she's being exiled downstairs, something that clearly upsets the Cases as a norm, might be an opportunity for them to see how it holds up to genuine huge stress.
Although it doesn't explain why she was cut in the first place, aside from the implication that they might have been concerned with her desire to discipline 'bad children' (which again... her mural featuring her and the Naughty Ones...* you did that bro...) and the knowledge we have from the Rejection Letter that before being cut to six, the number of Cases under testing/consideration had been cut down to ten from an unknown larger number. So around that time people were probably looking for any reason to cut someone from the lineup, considering how many Cases were made.

@eggsplosioncase4 Yeah at least with Banban there's the fact he was slated for destruction once and it seems likely he only survived because they'd made a point of having a 'main character/leader' who was derived from Uthman's DNA - I wouldn't be surprised if they were planning to simply pass Flumbo off as the original result of that experiment, and when he vanished they didn't have time to replace Banban again before showing him to their management or clients as part of the core lineup.
But the power of the Nabnab stan must be INCREDIBLE, because he wasn't cut until the very last round of cuts, and even while he's running around killing people there's a whole video telling workers that they'll be massively fined if they harm him. Was the scientist who created him related to their sponsors or something? We may never know.
*I adore the implication that her and Dadadoo named their unauthorized army of children after the depiction of 'bad and disobedient' kids or creatures in Bouncelia's mural... notable that in her mural she's shown as using her pouch as a prison, and is forced to do so in the game (due to an ultimatum from the same humans who created that concept of her)--while being deeply regretful about it, as a 'worried parent' who sadly admires your determination to fight for your child; but the intended use of a kangaroo's pouch is to assist with taking care of your kids.

Rules:
This event will be centered on characters with disabilities and chronic conditions, visible (ex, paraplegia; limb differences) and invisible (ex, migraines; CFS) mental and intellectual (ex, Down Syndrome, schizophrenia). Stories about characters from adjacent communities where not everyone in them identifies as disabled, such as characters who are Deaf/HOH or autistic, are welcome too. The bottom line is that the character(s) should have a condition which is impairing for them. For writing to qualify, please have one or more disabled/chronically ill characters as the focus of your story, rather than a side character/cameo in a story about nondisabled characters. Prompts are meant to facilitate stories about disability and disabled characters in the genres of hurt/comfort and whump (also known as hurt-no-comfort).
"Disability" can have a broad definition, and many conditions can be disabling. The moderator will not be filtering or rejecting submissions based on what medical conditions "count"; the only parameter is that the central character lives with a chronic condition of some type which is disabling for them in some way. Disabilities which come about in a fantasy or sci-fi setting are welcome as long as they are portrayed as being disabling in some way which is analogous (eg, a permanent problem caused by magic, or vampirism as a fantasy-disability). In fanfic it does not have to be canonical - headcanons and AUs are fine.
Please do not TAG your posts/links with the names of disabilities you are writing about (eg tagging a story about an epileptic character with “#epilepsy”,) or with “#disability” or “#chronic illness”, as those tags are used by disabled folks to talk about our RL disabilities and in the past there have been issues with writers inadvertently clogging those tags with fiction/writing advice.
Please DO tag your posts and links #disabledwhc2026 and, in a second tag, the day (eg, #day 1: established disability) so the mod can find and reblog them to the blog!
Original work and fanfic are both welcome; anything goes in terms of settings and genres (fantasy, sci-fi) as long as it’s h/c or whump.
You do not have to write for every prompt (that’s why there’s a mix of hurt and comfort!) or every day to be featured. If you don’t have time for 30 days, do as many as you feel like. If you only write either H/C or Whump, you can do a 15-day challenge, reinterpret the hurt prompts to include comfort, and/or find a whumpy spin on the comfort prompts.

Like I'm picturing Syringeon fully coming across him while stepping away from the team for a minute and going 'what are you still sitting around for move your ass lad', then walking back to the team and looking up to where Nabnab is scuttling away across the ceiling like 'ah damn there he goes... we just missed him... well, we'll never catch him now. I've been telling GoBb's plot to my housemate as a kind of epic in installments and they're really into it, and I wanna just say that their job is childcare-adjacent and when I said the mascots were created to do kindergarten jobs they just instantly nodded and was like 'makes sense, considering the state of childcare these days' so like. absolutely no shade to the people who do the mascots being made for something else, but it actually isn't too out there for them to be made for what they are in-game! if you think about it, making 'people' to do jobs for free in a very in-demand industry is basically printing money for any corporation that gets it to work, not to mention the potential of under-the-table deals with people who want to influence what children learn at a very young age.
look. listen. the scepter as an object is a symbol of authority, right? it is THE symbol of a ruler, right after a crown. Fourteen, 'The Queen', is called a queen and depicted with a scepter in her mural but never actually given one, which fits thematically because her name is a lie and she's as much a prisoner as any of the Cases.
And then Four/Syringeon creates the scepter. He grants her the literal and somewhat nightmarish ability to rule others; he chooses to specify that power as hers, not keeping it for himself; and by doing so he turns the lie into a kind of reality, giving her the power of a queen as much as he can in the only way he knows how. And I'm expected to just go about my day acting normal. I'm going to chew on the walls
