Okay so pretty easy for the other Bhaalspawn, Im merging Bhaal and Sarevok into one character, hes the father of Rhyse (My durge) and Orin. Orin was always vying to be their fathers favorite and never was, even as Rhyse is betraying humanity. In BG3 its because Rhyse is like the perfect Scion of Murder or whatever, but in this I think it's Sarevoks calculated effort to pit her against him and get her to struggle for attention because he knows it's basically all she really wants. They were close as kids and Rhyse used to like teach her things, but Rhyse has always been better at every metric their father judges them in, so a lot of resentment built for Orin. Rhyse doesn't even care about their fathers approval, and only about maintaining his lifestyle (Sarevok is a high ranking General and is loaded, Rhyse is lwky a mooch). I mean the other aspect for Orin not getting dear old dads attention is like, sexism, so that too. Orins military, but I don't think she'd have an Avatar, and if she did she'd get one in 2. I think she got chosen to go to Pandora through merit, while Rhyse just knew how to pressure the right people, ans he even got an Avatar, so that only furthers the divide.

For the Tadfools, Wyll is the most Jake-like, and the only one I could see being like chosen by Ewa. His whole betraying Mizora thing also parallels betraying humanity a tiny bit? Basically the whole this wasn't what I signed up for, being forced to hurt innocents and then punished for standing up for your ideals etc. I think he wanted to be a pilot but couldn't because he got in some accident and was blinded in one of his eyes, and then became a soldier and was chosen for Pandora through merit. Idk why he would have an avatar for reasons other than plot though.

Shadowheart could be a researcher mainly because I want her to have an avatar (I need Shadowzel to happen idk what to tell you). Im not sure what she'd be researching, possibly Na'vi religion/history bc cleric. I like Wyll Shadowheart and Rhyse being the main 3 with Avatars though because they were good friends in Rhyse's canon.

Laezel is a Na'vi, idk what else to do for her other than like, Shadowzel is a thing and it's lwky toxic at first but it's great. Karlach is an AMP Suit operator, and probably ex marine. My tav Leoroth is probably the best equivalent to Quarich, especially because while I haven't seen Fire and Ash, I have a feeling Minthara could be a good pick for a member of that clan, and I think pairing the two of them in this could be interesting. Halsin would be a decent stand in for Grace, Jaheira is also a researcher but one does flora and the other does fauna, I want Jaheira to do fauna though because it gives her and Rhyse more of a reason to connect. Astarion my only idea rn is like, corporate toolbag, but that's only bc of him being a magistrate before becoming a vampire, and Im really not sold on it (I could also do like linguistics or maybe special ops since its pretty rouge-y but Im not sure and there's no real lore reason).

Gale and Gortash both existing in Rhyse's life at once is interesting, since they're both his main love interests. I think Rhyse and Gortash went to school together, they didn't have too many of the same classes since the most into bio I see Gortash getting is bioengineering, but they knew each other and were both psychopathic assholes enough to get along well. They probably were in and out of a situationship as well, but both of them have big attatchment issues so nothing became of it. When they both met up again in Pandora though it was honestly coincidence, but Gortash like "sees all Rhyse is" and doesn't try to change anything or whatever so they get close again fast. Rhyse does betray him though to save the Na'vi, and I think it would be really fun if like, Rhyse killed him and hes brought back in Way of Water as an Avatar (not knowing Rhyse killed him), but who knows maybe Rhyse spares him, it depends on what I feel is more in character in the moment.

Back to Gale though Gale is a scientist (of a variety I will decide at some point), he does a lot less fieldwork but through some kinda circumstances Rhyse and Gale become friends, Gale catches feelings but is lwky not over his ex (who was his boss), Rhyse catches feelings but he's lwky not over his ex (who hes restarted his situationship with, even though Rhyse knows hes gonna end up betraying Gort), it's a great time. They get close after humanity is kicked off Pandora.

While Rhyse would fit as a Na'vi, I think Im gonna make him an Avatar. He's the son of a high ranking General in the army, who went to school for Ethology (animal behavior), but became an officer in the army or else his dad would cut him off from his money. Hes a rich loner, who gives off the vibe of like, he has a super secret island where he hunts people for sport (and lwky he might). He climbs to the rank of Captain very quickly, sort of through nepo-babying it, but also hes a highly lethal combatant, and fuckin scary when he gets a gun in his hands. He tries to distance himself from everything that's his father (speaking of his father, Im merging Bhaal and Sarevok into one character for this I think, though Im not sure), but the connection always finds him.

Rhyse is on Pandora as an officer through his father's connections (one of the only times he used them for any reason other than to screw his father over, he really wanted to go to Pandora), and is made an Avatar for the same reason. His father is one of the people responsible for organizing and funding the operation, so they really didn't have a choice. Rhyse and the scientists don't get along at first, because he really doesn't come off as a scientist, hes some nepo-baby using their operation to play alien, but he's studied Ethology basically literally his whole life, and is fully team scientist.

Idk what has him first accepted into the Na'vi, unless he's fully just taking the place of Jake, but I want him to either have a Thanator and be like a hunter guy with a compound bow, or like a pack of viperwolves and be fuckin Owen Grady. Maybe both, I think he's seen while still an outsider to the Na'vi, a capable warrior, but he lwky hates people and doesn't form genuine relationships well (He has ASPD in canon and I think imma keep it in this au) so he's not really ever accepted into 'the people' (definitely not by the end of the 1st movie at least, but a lot can happen in 15 years so idk by 2). He started studying animal behavior because his own was always off, and used it as a way to make himself more 'normal', but also he just likes animals more than people.

Rhyse isn't a good person, hes cruel when he needs to and hes an asshole and he doesn't really care about people and usually doesn't try, but a whole world full of alien biology and you guys just want to kill everything for ore are we kidding?? He also grows to like the Na'vi, even if he's an outsider to them. He also probably gets fully bonded with his Avatar at some point but idk how or why, he lwky just likes being a big agile blue guy

Ill share the idea for the fic tho since I was telling one of my friends abt it

Set like 5ish years into knowing each other, basically my durge Rhyse (Tiefling Gloomstalker Ranger) and Gortash are planning the crown of Karsus heist, and are finding ways to prolong the whole thing because they've found out they actually enjoy each others company, and so Bhaal makes the urge start to target Gortash because hes getting in the way of Rhyses duties, dulling his blade, etc. A big thing for Rhyse is that hes very independent and like, my mind is my own, which makes him generally super in control of his nature, and makes suddenly being out of control very distressing, but hes not going to kill Gortash because they 'still have plans' (Rhyse has gotten too attached booowomp).

And then it turns into my take on a sorta sick fic since Orin and Uriel (Bhaalspawn Oc, Orins brother, since I had an idea for a college of secrets bard bhaalspawn who orchestrated murders and never got his hands dirty) are now told to kill Gortash, and Rhyse has to stay to basically scary dog them off (since his first reaction was to ghost him) while also dealing with his own compusions to murder the shit out of Gortash, and the only way out they can see is to successfully pull off the Crown of Karsus heist.

Main plotline and emotional throughline would be between Rhyse and Gortash, and kinda Bhaal, but I really wanted to explore Rhyse's family dynamics. Idk I think both Bhaal, Sceleritas, and Saeverok could all be explored as paternal figures in my 3 Bhaalspawn kiddos lives, and I'd wanna explore the dynamics between Rhyse Orin and Uriel.
