in buddy’s dream when he is running from the old man he comes to a mirror and after seeing himself he sees chase before breaking the mirror and walking through it.

could this have been something the keys knew about like a secret passage way in ex Libris library? That’s why silver told chase to go through it?

He got his friends and family in danger, all in his attempt to escape AND help them all escape the cult. Because he knew he couldn't possibly offer anything by being small and weak.

He was foolish enough to trust the wrong people and this ruined farther the keys' lives, because now they're apart, too. As though their struggles weren't enough already. Everyone is suffering away from each other and HE caused that, as far as he knows. Because he was stupid and careless, didn't know what he was doing and couldn't be less stupid.
