Shark Mer Buddy. Kinda keeps to himself bc other mer dont like that he's a shark mer.
Chase is a boy who loves surfing. Deacon is ofc still his cousin. Both of them are on the beach. The weather is getting nasty and the water is reacting to that. Chase pleads Deacon for 'one last wave'.
Deacon eyes the water, but sighs and laments. Chase goes out on his board and he's doing pretty good, but ofc water is gunna water in storms. Chase has a nasty wipeout. Even Deacon cringes. But he expects Chase to surface and they'll go home.
But Chase doesn't surface. Deacon stands up, looking through the choppy water. The water spits Chase's broken board onto the sand. Deacon runs to the water's edge, but he can't see Chase. He's screaming his cousin's name, but Chase isn't surfacing.
Buddy sees a human. Falling. Falling deeper and deeper. 'How stupid is he? He's gunna drownβ¦' but then Buddy realizes the human is unconscious. Oh shit! He really is going to drown! Buddy zips over and catches the human. The way the water moves the human's blond hair is beautiful. Buddy tucks a strand behind the human's ear. He needs to get this human to safety.
He swims up. He knows the surface is dangerous, but he has to. When he surfaces, he sees a brunet human still on the beach. He carefully swims over, still holding the human.
Deacon is mezmerised at what he's seeing. He thoughtβ¦he thought Chase was as good as dead. Now mermaids actually exist?! The merperson transfers Chase to Deacon's arms, but swims away quickly, not letting Deacon thank him for saving Chase's life.
