I don’t want to destroy my main blog with welovegumby stuff, so I made a secondary blog for it. It’s called Gumby Theory and the name is linked to the blog.

I posted all of these messages on the new arg discord, y’all should join.

“So this whole Gumby blog has me kind of obsessed, and I’d like to share where I’m at with my understanding of the “story”. The prodigal son is a bible story about a father who’s son made the mistake of going off and spending all of his money, was forced to do farm work to scrape by, and eventually returned to the father to beg for forgiveness. The father was excited to see his son return after his mistakes, and threw a party in celebration. The father’s other son, who had been loyal and responsible to the father, was upset about this and felt that his brother was unworthy after his actions. That’s where the lesson comes in because it’s a bible parable, but that’s not really important right now.

Welovegumby keeps mentioning the prodigal son, mistakes, and returning, so I think this story is exactly what it’s all connected to. I think the blog plays the role of either the father, or the prodigal son (or both because they refer to them self as “us” or “we”).

If the blog is the father, they know of the mistakes the prodigal son made (I.e. the dead body in the body bag), but is happy that the son has returned.

If the blog is the prodigal son, they are referring to them self in third person to disassociate from their mistakes. They were the one that put the body in the body bag, and that is why on the blog they constantly reference their mistakes and call them self a mistake.

Also, their favourite number is three because it means trinity, like the trinity of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

That’s what I’ve found, and that’s my theory as of now.

I suddenly thought of a third option for my theory. The blog could be the other son, the one angry at the prodigal son because he made mistakes. The prodigal son could be the one in the body bag. When asked what “he” did, the Gumby blog will say something along the lines of “he really was the mistake”, which could be referencing the deceased prodigal son who ‘was’ a mistake until the blog owner killed him.

The idea of the trinity could also mean the father and his two sons I guess, which is a whole new can of worms

The last thing I can say rn on the Gumby topic is the code hidden in their recent post. They posted this: “Last night People were asking if we are okay. Thanks for tHE support. Yesterday was hardLy a waLk in the park BUt today we’Re verY Much bEtter”. If you take all of the capital letters, it spells out “LP They’ll bury me”. I’m confused on the LP part, but there isn’t really anything to suggest it should be excluded so I’m assuming it stands for something? Or maybe I’m overthinking it, idk.”

Adding on to the possibilities, there is the option that the Gumby blog contains (or contained) all three characters. They always refer to them self as “us” or “we”, and they frequently change their position on things, for example they often say “I was a mistake” but recently they’ve also said “He was the mistake” in response to questions. There’s a lot of wild thoughts and possibilities coming from this Gumby fan blog, and I love it.

I joined tumblr with low expectations. You see a lot of annoying stuff coming from the site all over the internet. That being said, I’ve seen a lot of cool stuff in my first day. I didn’t plan to, but I want to post something of my own instead of just reblogging bear pictures.
