Dr. Yesuel Kim appointed as Assistant Professor at Handong Global University
Dr. Yesuel Kim has been appointed as an assistant professor in the School of AI Convergence at Handong Global University in September 2025. Prof. Kim will teach courses about urban AI and urban environmental planning, and continuously investigate urban environmental planning topics focusing on climate change mitigation and adaptation with AI. Congratulations!

KAIST Urban Design Lab presented three papers at the 2025 International Conference of Asia-Pacific Planning Societies (ICAPPS 2025) held in Hsinchu, Taiwan. It was a meaningful opportunity to share our latest research with fellow researchers across the Asia-Pacific planning community and to exchange insights on emerging urban challenges.

Ms. Hanew SUH, Ms. Junghee OH, Dr. Wonjun No Honored with Seoul Metropolitan City Mayor's Award at 2024 Seoul Data Fellowship.
Ms. Hanew SUH, Ms. Junghee OH and Dr. Wonjun No successfully finished their six-month research project at the 2024 Seoul Data Fellowship. Our research project titled <Unveiling Spatial Value of Waterfront Parks: Spatio-Temporal Dynamics in Influencing Factors of Park Visits and Built Environment-based Functional Typologies in Seoul's Han-River Park> was selected as the best research project, and received Seoul Metropolitan City Mayor's Award.
This project aims to uncover the spatial value of waterfront spaces in Seoul by analyzing their usage patterns based on mobility data. Additionally, the study examines the factors influencing these usage patterns and explore how their spatio-temporal dynamics vary using a Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) model.
