Coordinators Prayers Came home singing I 9nce was lost but now I'm found... And pondering on how easy it is to get lost in ourselves but how amazing it is to be surrounded by others who will find us... Saw a lot of that out there tonight Lord, people lost in their fears and grief and heart break and how in so many ways that caused them to get lost in other ways, but yet in all those instances Lord, I~saw they were not lost really, they were found by friends, they were not left alone but rescued by others... And in that I saw you... And there's no words left but thank you, Lord. Thank you that you are the God who answers prayers, the shepherd that leaves the flock (or the friends at the cinema) for the one, the provider, the healer, the Comforter, the one who pulls us up and will not let us go! Thank you that you granted me the grace to see you there in each and every person we served tonight, and thank you for the ones that worked beside me and covered me in prayer as they offered petition to you. Took my Oldie (aka the Boss) for a walk... 2.5miles around Swanholme & Hartsholme Park - 5 minutes late for cafe so not pleased (especially as the walk may have been a bit longer than initially stated - it feels less when cycling so not my fault really 🤣). Best bit (no picture sorry) was literally turning a corner and coming virtually nose to nose with a deer - honestly not sure who was more surprised but I do know which one was faster to react and it wasn't me! Another amazing Lincoln Forest Church where we walked together considering Pollinating Prayers - looking at pollen (& seeds) and pollinators and considering how both demonstrate forms of prayer - prayers of hope and prayers of action - and allowing that to speak to us... And once we started looking and listening we were amazed at the vast array of different ways Pollen and seeds are pollinated or moved about... This in itself was amazing to see, so many creatures and methods to consider, and we enjoyed witnessing small jumping angel like insects that spoke so deeply of unexpected joy and 'entertaining' Angels unawares 😉we also enjoyed being pollinators at times too by moving seeds and pollen - but the absolute blessing and miracle of the day at least for me was to see the colony of Bees that seem to have taken over a redundant hole in the ground - busy working to make it comfy (pretty sure there were a lot more back in the hole we couldn't see as every now and again one flew out or in), which spoke very much of being active where we find ourselves and making use of what we can even in unusual circumstances. So as you go around look for pollen or seeds, then listen for bee's, see the insects, feel the breeze, watch the water flow, and consider how these pollinators work to take the pollen and use it and spread it out... Think of the pollen as a prayer to the future, an action taken in faith for tomorrow... What is your pollen or seed prayer - offer it now to The Creator knowing it will be received... What is your pollinator prayer of action... What action of faith will you take to see it happen - knowing the Creator will be there to help you... Wore the official @wearecyclinguk shirt today at the Cycling UK Lincolnshire AGM. There with the multiple hats again... Cycling UK (national body) Trustee, Cycling UK Lincs Campaigns & Registration Officer. Was surprised, honoured (d embarrassed) to be awarded the BSA Merit Award Trophy again for work done promoting cycling in the area... Always aware of the history and heritage of this trophy, amd always seems a little funny to get a trophy for just doing what I love and what I think matters :) Never one to let an opportunity pass of course I also liberally disseminated @lovetorideglobal #BikeMonthChallenge leaflets out and spoke about LtR and why it's so important to sign up ourselves and encourage new people too - be they new cyclists or potential new cyclists, because sometimes all it takes is just inviting someone out with us. Massive thanks go as always to Andy Townhill for all his hardwork in arranging the AGM and getting in the refreshments! Another beautiful Church by Nature Sleaford session that was led wonderfully by Stanton's family this month where we walked through and considered what Elijahvs story tells us of God. Nature and Mirackes! And how amazing was it that we could be joined by Raven-esque birds, admire clear waters and the fish within it, and see sticks and stones turned into monuments to the Lord with the bright fire of God's very own nature shining though in the dandelions and daffodils too. We watched birds and sheeps, considered the pools gathered in fields even in what has been a very dry time, and listened to he watermill turning the stones that grind the flour for bread... And above all we allowed time to listen to the still small voice that speaks within us and around us if we just listen... And we prayed for our friend Linda as she began her own outdoor church adventure too where she lives... And finally we gathered at the end where we began and drank coffee together and ate cake and just enjoyed being Church together. Coordinators Prayers Lord, you know the path and the situation, you who call us to serve and send us 'Home' and back again. You who allow us in the mystery of grace to work beside you, to be graced by you even in the unwelcome, even in the darkness, you who send amazing Prayer Pastors to serve with intercessors hearts, and gifted Street Pastors to serve with compassionate hands - you Lord who witness to us in the good samaritans and tatto'd wise ones, who speak to us in small city ways that means we can know each other and have friends that can be there too as we are. Oh lord, your city shines with light and love even in the turmoil and the loss, even in the anger and the pain, through it all you walk with us and share with us,, compassion pours out, mercy is known, the stars shine down because you called it into being, you called us and we will walk with you, we will serve you through these people and be served by you through their mystery and witness too. Coordinators Prayers Lord, second of 2 shifts this weekend and I just want to say thank you for the Lincoln Street & Prayer Pastors that show up even in their own grief and infirmities, volunteers that could just as easily stay at home but don't because they have answered the call to serve you in the people of this City. I just want to ask you to bless them all and hold them in your love and grace for their compassion and giving kindness. Lord I want to thank yoh that yoh allow us to serve you in the city, and the people of the city and that you allow me to see you there in those people so clearly. There as I knelt in the damp on a dirty floor trying to get someone to lift their feet so we could get the flip flops on them I saw you so clearly that how could I help but act with loving kindness and compassion even as I prayed that I wouldn't experience sick in my hair instead of pure nard, but there Lord were you, those feet yours, my hands yours too. In the bandaged head wound I saw you treating with grace the one lowered through a roof, or the others you offered care and healing to, how could I then not listen and care and hold his hand as we took him to the taxi. In the ones demanding coffee I saw you acting with grace and offering in the little you had so much more than just bread and fishes, so how could we not offer more than coffee but smiles and listening hearts even as we served it remembering that in the least we serve the mighty king too. In the anger and aggression I saw you meeting legion with compassion, I heard you acting with love and healing even in the face of persecution, we only have prayers and lollipops to offer out but I think maybe that's the same isn't it, us reaching out to serve and help, listen and calm, care and be compassionate because in all of them is me meeting you and I hope in some small way when they met us they met you too. So Lord I lift up all those that served you in some way tonight and will do on other nights too, and I lift up all those that were served in some way tonight, and above all I lift up my whole city and its peoples to you Lord and I think uou for this night of being yours and serving you. Coordinators Prayers Night one of two out there tonight Lord, and for a short while there I was wondering if you were giving me a night off... Glad you weren't though but thank you for the extra time with the Prayer Pastors and their vibrant humour and wonderful stories and as always their prayers before the Street team in all its loving service showed up too... And thank you so much that you are a God that answers prayers and sends text notifications dings to remind us of that fact and that all we need to do is trust and surrender to you. Thank you that it was a quiet night with only 1 bottle of water and tissues needed and that the vomit stayed off my shoes this time (they still stink from the last time and I expect that will never change, right - you may wash us whiter than snow but fabreze for shoes isn't quite the same caliberfor healing and removing things, but thank you for the honour to serve even so!) Thank you for young people with questions to ask, and others that quote 2 Timothy 10 out of context for their meaning but as a message of grace for us the same, reminding us you know the heart and minds even if they are sometimes hurting or hidden away. Thank you that all the EA's have replacement jobs and that we got to stop and chat just as we did before. Keep her safe on her journey 'home' too, Lord. Lord, thanks for the crews and teams out tonight of all hues - cctv, police, taxi, venue, and others too. Thanks for the reminder that your light shines in the city even in the dark. Coordinators Prayers Lord, thank you, thank you that you are a God that answers prayers, thank you that you are a God that called me to this place and time and ministry, thank you for the people I serve with - such amazing people of great faith and heart and compassion, both those seen on the streets and those so essential behind the scenes - and thank uou for the people we meet and met out there too, all of whom told me something of you. So Lord thank you too for those we work alongside out there at night, for the police and medics, for Cctv crew, for the door and bar staff, and taxi rank crews, and thank you for the agencies we direct people too, not always visible on the streets at the time we are out but just as essential, for the Rough sleeping teams, for Project Compass, for the salvation army, for other services too like Samaritans, New Kapprt, Crisis Cafes, and Edan too. Somedays it all goes well but it's still a struggle, you get what needs to be done done but it still feels hollow, you don't get done what you wanted despite how much you wanted to, and as much as you want to be still you can't, as much as you want to be active it isn't working, and all that's left is a slightly sour feeling and a bit of an aching chasm within you. And that's life. That's you that's your choices it's the place you find yourself... And you could stay there and dwell there but outside the window the sky is a blush of pastels and the light casts golden on the green of tree in the distance and you go out into that space instead... And you see how light casts things into shadows so that definition can't be clearly made and the dark shadows seem more sold than the colours and spaces that usually are those shapes and you realise it's illusion... Shadows are illusions of the light as is the dark space dwelling in the empty feelings of not enough even though it is... So I go inside the little space of the prayer shed and light two candles that scent the air and share their flame even though their flame adds nothing to the light already there, except they do - they add movement and heat and a shape of their own and that's what each of us does I realise too. I am a candle in an already bright place, I - despite my shadows and feelings to the contrary - am a bright light that brought smiles to people today, that flared for a short while with movement and grace all its own, and contributed even when it felt overwhelmed, even when it was smaller and near its edge, and though I may have spluttered I have not gone out, my light is still there and it is perhaps my light that most casts my shadows deeper, but I need to remember that those shadows only exist because of the light and not instead of the light.i did not get all that I intended to do done, I did not though fail because of this - I achieved because of this!
