Itās all I know how to do anymore
As grounding as the ocean can be
Iām a story of many that I donāt even know
With a title thatās a lighthearted sort of melancholy
Iām swaying under the night sky
Lost in the dark of my tightly shut eyes
Pretending that Iāve finally tasted alcohol
Even though I hate the smell
Iām desperate for something
And now Iām laying on the grass
I feel it between my fingers
Itās really just my crinkled bedsheets
Itās not really raining
But Iāll say thatās the reason why my face is wet
Iām throwing together another playlist
I donāt know what for anymore
Maybe itās just to keep my hands busy
But music is one of the few things that bring me comfort now
The words are dripping with pain
Iām ashamed of myself only because Iāve been trained to be
Just to find out Iām completely normal
But I just feel so tired right now
So now Iām really outside
My earbuds are in and Iām walking down the road
Anything to get out of the house
Thereās dirt on my feet and words lodged in my throat
But itās really the carpet Iām feeling
Iām laying against my window with a bottle of cartoonish alcohol in my hand
My eyes are red-rimmed and dazed
Smoking the thoughts out of my head
Praying for it to poison me
I can distantly hear a VHS tape
Even though we donāt own a single one
Itās droning on about the truth of God
Just sneering at my reflection as I take another swig
My teeth are chipped and broken
But I can speak just fine
Iām just using them as an excuse not to
Thereās a wooden pencil stuck through my palm like Jesus on the cross, so I donāt have to write
But I still trace out words with my blood
I periodically forget my own age
That I still have time to be a stupid teenager
The sign on my back says so
While Iām kissing someone of the same sex
I want to make out behind a dingy old restaurant and ignore it every time my phone rings
I want to sneak out to a rave and scream my heart out
I want to cry and hear the world spin
I want to live like a gay boy with all the confidence I donāt have
He hates his parents and isnāt afraid to say it
Iām stuck to my mattress
Iām laid back across some flirty tile floor
Someoneās kissing me and Iām running my hand through their hair
And our breaths are as soft as snow
We could be bare and naked
Smiling, laughing, and swearing
Skinny dipping in a chilly lake, splashing each other
And lay together on the couch
Iām alone in the living room
Not even the touch of a parent to soothe my fever
But Iām never sending them
I wonāt send this one either
But maybe someone will find it after my pathetic attempt at suicide
