I’ve missed my RPing hobby so dearly much. COVID-19 has taught, traumatized, drained and beaten me as a nurse to my fullest extent. 

Alas, in my parts of the world...We are finally seeing a decline enough for me t finally be given days off and being called back in fewer times at least 4 out of 5 times. Allowing me at least some time to get back to the thing that USED to derail my mind and help me through difficult times.

It was a truth that Sigyn had held inside ever since she had came to Earth, after Loki’s death – she had missed her people, but she had wished it had been under better conditions. A desperate outreach from Thor, seeking a healer or – as Earth would call Sigyn – a doctor. She couldn’t help the feeling of dread swelling within her stomach. Flicking her eyes over to her ring finger, she caressed her thumb over the metal of her wedding band. 

Her marriage to Loki had never been simple. But it was far from loveless on her end. Despite sharing a spiritually binding promise of marriage to each other and something even bigger with him, something she hadn’t yet been able to bring to light, she still found her heart hammering so hard with nervousness, that she could feel it in her eardrums as she unpacked her Volvo into her new home. 

At least, she was thankful her home in New Asgard was somewhat distant from the others. She had only requested something with three bedrooms from Thor, if by some miracle, they decided to take their own rooms. It was moment like these, she was glad they were in school besides watching her and her nervous ticks. 

Something I have said and always will say, is that I will never hold back my muses - if they say their story is a certain way, I will not try to bend, break and mend to what I like. 

When it comes to Sigyn, my particular portrayal of her, is that in her Marvel verses, she has aligned herself with this very interesting category of single-motherhood. Not because she doesn’t love Loke (actually, the opposite of that), but because she fits in this very hard to explain bit. 

There are women that love the life of everything: spouse and children. Then there are some that want just the spouse and no children. But for my Sigyn, she tends to very much lean into this in-between category that I haven’t quite seen before: 

She wants the babies and while she does worry, she is okay with Loki (depending on the storyline we discuss) either rejecting them or distancing himself from them, or simply not being around them very much. She can do it by herself; it is hard, but it is something she loves. 

Her vows are incredibly important to her; but they are subject to change. Taking from the requirements from Marvel’s comics, Loki himself must excuse Sigyn from her vows. But honestly, there is no ‘lonely void’ that she wishes to fill. There is a spot in her heart for Loke, always; she is his constant and his home. No matter where she is, she’s his home. 

But for Sigyn, Vali and Narfi are the one thing she did for herself. She wanted to have children, whether there was a husband in her life or not. But it goes far beyond simply wanting children; Sigyn is a seer, and possesses the ability of being able to not just ‘predict’ the future, but ‘see’ the future in perfect detail. (a trait more Vanir’s possess, but hers are much stronger given her familial line and being the daughter of Freya). Although, one thing to note for Sigyn and seers in my headcanons is: they do not get to just willfully close their eyes and see anything in the future - seeing the future is often random and happens at inopportune moments. 

However, for Sigyn, a future she did not mind seeing was herself holding two twin boys. From the moment of seeing them, it had been her ambition to know the two boys, to hold them as she had in her prophetical vision. Though, it was not a simple matter of running out and finding anyone to father them; it was allowing fate to align her onto the right path, to give her the right partner. And, much like tuition, she knew when a suitor simply wasn’t the one that would give her the children she saw. Some, she saw wouldn’t give her children, period.
