Well you’d at least see wot was coming for miles, instead of two feet in front of your own bloody nose with how dark it is down there.  Actual creepers are deadly enough as it is, let alone when they manage to sneak up behind you and you only hear the hiss when it’s too late.  Skeletons, zombies moaning in the distance, no thanks.  Also monsters burn in the day, cheers sun for being quite deadly.

It isn't that dark down here. Your eyes just aren't adjusting because you've been in the light for so long. Shit fucks your eyes up, you know. Heh, here's the thing, we burn in the sun, too. It's a giant fucking ball of fire, you think it just sits there and doesn't hurt specific people? It isn't deadly, but have you ever gotten a sunburn before? Shit hurts.

Why would I want to-???  Well it’s just so nice to look up there and see for miles and miles yeah?  At night all the stars pass by, during the day you can see the clouds, or stand in the rain.  Though I certainly don’t bloody enjoy storms much anymore.  

Isn't that intimidating, though? It's just infinite up there, you don't know what the fuck's up there and what could want to fuck you up. I'm more comfortable with something over my head, no offense. 

Go back where?  To The Forest?  It’s basically gone, and caves don’t sound like my cup of tea.  I mean there’s too many cavedwellers down there, it’s dark all the time, nothing to climb, also they’re bloody well dumb, cramped, and closed in.  Can’t see the sky from in there.

Smiling, though, because you know she's joking around, you try to ignore how much pain you're in. Laughter is the best medicine, after all.

"No offence taken," he says, puling back, "I haven’t exactly had a good place to wash any part of me, so no offence taken." Joel’s mouth pulls into a small smile as he adjusts the fur at his shoulders just a bit tighter around him. "You live underground?”

"Yep, I'm what's known as a cavedweller. Technically I shouldn't ever be above ground, I get massive headaches from anything other than indirect torchlight, but I ran out of food so I'm searching for some cows." 'Mogar' grins at him, a little proud of himself.

"You won’t die, Mogar. Not while I’m here to help. And it’s not stupid, just different."

"You say that, but I'm not very convinced. It is pretty fucking stupid, after all."

Joel gives him a once-over. A twice-over. “‘S okay.” He holds out his own filthy hand, gently taking the other’s. “It’s—it’s nice to meet you.”

"No offence dude, but I live underground and I have cleaner hands than you." He's being a little snarky, trying to push away the fact that he's still a little hurt, giving the guy about as blank of an expression as he can.

"Not… one like that. Joel,” he murmurs, making his way closer. “Mogar… Mogar… I’ll remember that.”

"Oh, shit. Yo, I didn't mean anything bad by it." He gives him a smile, holding out his good hand. "Just a little tense around new people. Had a bit of an accident a while back."
