North Shore MegaMax Airlock before & after a change.

Before change - first 3 photos. You can probably guess why I had to change… fortunately it’s not super obvious?

Why did it take me so long to try the North Shore MegaMax Airlock diapers?!

These are seriously great diapers, they’re quieter and more breathable than plastic backing but have the same grippy tapes as a trusty MegaMax. I love the black color too (my diaper is well used in the photos above and it’s not super obvious). Of course since these have cloth backing, odors tend to leak out more. But they have held all my accidents securely and I’m excited to wear them in more situations.

Wearing a North Shore MegaMax Air today. Yay for another photo in a fresh white diaper, often my diaper does not stay clean long enough for an appropriate photo op.

I don’t like the cloth backing as much as plastic, but somedays I need the extra discreetness. I love the fit of the MegaMax, so I am super happy there are different styles so I can choose the most appropriate one for my day to day needs. I’m wearing the white color so I can periodically check the wetness indicator while out and about. It’s embarrassing to admit, but sometimes in these cloth backed MegaMax diapers I have trouble gauging when it’s close to changing time. I guess because the capacity is slightly lower than the plastic backed version, I need to change sooner. It’s not an issue, just something I need to be more conscious about checking throughout the day. Actually come to think of it, I’ve been noticing that I rely a lot more on feel (as in touching my diaper with my hand) or look of my diaper to determine when I need to change. I’ve stopped noticing when I have smaller leaks, dribbles, or even skid marks, and that is a new development.

Today I have some short meetings with multiple local business owners, so I’m trying to be a little more discreet without compromising protection. While I love the Tena Slip Maxi and prefer the plastic backing, the high rise of the MegaMax can handle my nervous bladder (and bowels) far better. Add a diaper cover and onesie on top, and I’m well protected! Better yet, I know some of the businesses I will be visiting have single use restrooms, so big win if I need to change.
