This is an AU in which Grantaire wakes up just a little too late. He stumbles into the room just in time to see Enjolras shot. It is too much for him to bear in the moment and he collapses, the guards mistaking him for dead. As the sun finally rises, he wakes once more. He drags Enjolras back in from the window, desperately hoping the man survived somehow. Refusing to face the fact that his one source of light is gone.

Follow the exploits of Crawford Stone, Zane Jonson, and Jackie Steele in navigating adult life in a world where people with special abilities, known colloquially as exos, are the every day norm. By Any Means is a coming of age story for queer adults, late bloomers and any who were held back by life's circumstances. A 90s and 00's inspired light sci-fi story with drama, action, with at least one car chase and maybe a little arson.

Crawford Stone, the central character for my upcoming comic, By Any Means.

He's a gruff, abrasive chain smoker who's more or less sacrificed his life to protect his younger half brother. He's the estranged step son of a powerful senator who still uses the tragic murder of his wife to gain sympathy from voters even 20 years after the fact.

Crawford survives one day to the next, hiding from one of the most powerful men in the city of New Castor, hoping some day he can get his brother far from the city where their father can't find him. But those plans are destroyed when he's caught in the crossfire of an attack on the city and ends up on the local news. It doesn't take long to learn that his step father is the least of his worries.

After reading the Sister Imperator comic, I was delighted to find that she actually did care about her children, but it was complicated. AND that she'd kept them a secret from Nihil right under his nose.

I'm obsessed with the Skeletour set design and what they did for He Is.

Year Zero came immediately before where at the very end an explosion shattered the glass that had been in the arches and the whole arena went completely dark except for a field of stars in the arches. The entire arena was completely dark and then those first chords started when everyone was still shocked from the literal explosion.

It was a very powerful experience.
