He's got issues, and won't play when others can see him. He's good enough to be a professional, but he can't play in front of people.

Even as a kid, music was his passion. It resonated with his very soul and give him an outlet he desperately needed. When he was about 12 years old, still learning how awful his step father was, he had the house to himself one afternoon. He was put a tape into his step father's big fancy stereo that he wasn't supposed to touch and cranked it up so loud it could be heard outside. He was having the time of his life. Until his step father got home early with a guest he'd brought home. That was the first time Crawford ended up at the hospital with an injury that he seemingly couldn't explain, but he made up wild stories to explain the cast on his arm when at school.

Now the closest he gets to doing anything with music where others can hear is sitting on the fire escape outside his window, with his guitar. Some days he's brave enough to play without headphones. He doesn't know it, but there are 3 separate people in nearby apartments that watch for him because they like to hear him play.
