seeing as people will inevitably ask me upon its release how would i have done ghostbusters 3? so here it is. the big thing is i wouldn't reboot it, id do a straight continuation. fieg has explained that he chose to reboot as people would believe in ghosts at this point and they wouldnt have the conflict of skeptics but i have a thought. they could potentially still swing the people not believing if it was a team in another city like say washington, the events of the previous films only happened in new york theres bound to be people who would still believe they arent real because they didnt personally witness it and what are the chances of 2 major events (3 if we include the videogame) happening in new york and nothing anywhere else in the world skeptics would be suspicious.

here is how id go with it its been 30 years since the gozer incident since then they have franchised all over the world and has grown into a large corporation with state of the art equipment with restrictors built in for safety and damage control. then we have our cast we have a semi new recruit whos at entry level buster status they have completed training and been on a few jobs, someone in tech maintenance. a senior buster whos been there since the early days when ghostbusters began franchising and a new recruit from research who catalogues caught entities and maintains the containment unit.

as per the norm ghost activity increases but this time on a global scale, ghosts are everywhere eventually the containment buster notices something odd about the containment unit and its drawing energy from the ghosts. they eventually discover this same anomaly is present at every ghostbusters hub building.

the team soon discover that the board of directors have been harnessing the power of the undead in the containment units to create a global summoning circle planning to start a global event that will summon an entity that could grant them demi-god status.

higher ups notice the sleuthing and fire the team. they notice the signs that they have began the ritual and need to stop them but know they cant without their equipment they no longer have access to. the senior buster however has a way he trained under the old team and is still in contact with the now retired ray who was ousted by the board of directors years ago and unbeknownst to them took the original kit knowing with the new kit being developed they would be trashed. the team now equipped with the old kit which unlike the new kit is un restricted.

hq is now in panic as all hell is opening up and the the boards plan dosent go as expected and the meld together into a many headed hydra like entity the team do there busting business and save the day. ghostbuster gets hit in the stock market thanks to the bad pr from the boards actions. ray is reinstated as ceo who decides with the big financial hit its time to go back to basics and run the company on a much smaller scale like he used to while welcoming the new team to spearhead the restructuring. at which point they get a call from the sedgewick hotel that ugly green spud is back ray turns to the team ‘’i think you guys have got this’’ ecto 1C speeds out of the building and end credits play.
