The Marionetta’s home could be considered anything but welcoming with its newly broken windows and shredded wards that lay strewn haphazardly on the ground.  The tiny, run-down cottage comprised of only three rooms was overgrown with dried brambles and scattered leaves.  One was dedicated entirely to her beloved dolls and puppets, where most hung from the ceiling by invisible thread– a secret she would never divulge.  The other was completely closed off, locked away with no key in sight, and it emitted quite an awful smell. Something was not quite right, for it reeked as if whatever was inside was rotting yet the home’s only living occupant paid it no mind.  To any other who had not been given the opportunity to habituate to its nauseating odour, it was a bile-inducing stench that threatened to overturn one’s insides with as little as a whiff.

It was in the largest of the rooms that the Marionetta stood, a veiled figure with a lit candle clutched tightly to her chest as though seeking comfort in its warmth.  Her face was covered, preventing any feature from being exposed to harsh light, and a doll resided by her foot serving as an ambassador for her ‘mistress.’  Porcelain arms swayed this way and that as she spoke, expressing the veiled woman’s desires.  First to arrive was an individual known only as the Sanguine Sorceress, a terrifying woman the Marionetta had expended a dangerous amount of energy in her weakened state to find.  Calculated risks were taken, and a tentative, yet delicate pact was formed to ensure the pressing matter at hand would be taken care of.

The toddler giggled and the crimson haired warlock only could let out a soft smile. “Alright darling, be gentle though alright?”

Eleniel nodded and began to splay her tiny fingers within Lilthessa’s hair, using them as a hairbrush to separate out those silken strands.

“Mommy’s hair! Red” She nodded and in her attempt to brush it out started to make a bit more of a mess. Lilthessa chuckled and handed her a brush, which the toddler grasped firmly but didn’t have enough force or strength in her arm yet. She kept on dropping it.

“And what color is your hair, little love?”

“Whiiiite” Eleniel giggled and picked up the brush again and worked on the ends of her mom’s hair.

Lilthessa nodded. “Good girl. You are smart. You will start schooling soon I think.. And soon perhaps we will know what you are adept at.”

“Schoool?” She blinked and dropped the hairbrush again. “I wanna stay with mommy.”
