like im a nessian and gwynriel stan and all the content that appears on my for you page is f*eysand and e*lriel and its so cringey, because 90% of those tiktoks are fey*sand/f*eyre stans trying to put down nesta and saying feyre is a queen that no one deserves and that rhysand is so hot and the perfect feminist guy and blablabla or e*lriel stans trying to humiliate lucien and it’s just ughhh.

When the Archeron family was living in poverty both Nesta and Elain did little effort to help their family, that is a fact don’t try and tell me otherwise.

But Nesta is really the one to get most of the hate for that, people forgive Elain because “Elain is Elain”.

Nesta and Elain are very different. Nesta is very brash, headstrong and has an attitude and doesn’t let people speak over her, and Elain appears to be more passive, shy and doesn’t really want to make a fuss.

When in acomaf these two new ships were presented to us (nessian and e/riel) a lot of people were against nessian. The main argument being that Cassian was too good for Nesta, that Nesta was ungrateful and that she let her sister go alone into the woods therefore she didn’t deserve such a good man as Cassian was.

But personally, from the moment e/riel was presented, I didn’t see that much people attacking Elain like they did with Nesta, even though given by the logic of those people Elain didn’t deserve Azriel either because she also let her sister go alone into the woods.

I think they saw that Elain was a more passive character so they saw her as more “deserving” of Azriel’s interest in contrary to Nesta, who’s not passive at all.

I believe that if Elain had a more harsh and headstrong personality she would’ve gotten as much as hate as Nesta did, and viceversa, if Nesta was more passive people wouldn’t have seen a problem in nessian.

What I want to say is that a lot of e/riels don’t give a fuck about Elain or her wants and needs, they are more concerned about Azriel’s needs and what type of female suits him best (one that doesn’t make a fuss).

The problem comes when in acosf it’s shown that Elain simply does not fit in the NC, and it is implied that in the future she may get out of there, when people try to force stupid ideas upon Elain’s characters just to make it seem like she fits in the NC next to Azriel.

They do not care about Elain, as long as she sits pretty gardening and doesn’t make a fuss she is gonna live a happy life next to Azriel.
