Soft snores filled the room as you laid on your side, propped up on your elbow as you watched your lover sleep. You had woken before him, unusual, but you were grateful. It wasn’t often that you got mornings like this. For a while you just stared, taking in every curve of his face and the way he furrowed his brow as if in deep thought. 

With a soft hum you raised a hand, slowly running a finger down the bridge of his nose. It had its intended effect as Cobb slowly stirred, opening his eyes and meeting your gaze with the smile you fell in love with.

“Mornin’ beautiful.” His voice was soft, still laced with hints of sleep. The morning suns shone through the room with golden rays, hitting his face at just the right angle. You could see a thousand sunsets, a million views that would leave anyone breathless, but nothing could ever compare to this.

He inched closer, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear. “What’s a girl like you doing in a place like this?”  You laughed, giving his shoulder a light shove. “Just passing through,” you teased, entangling your legs with his. Cobb chuckled, pulling you in for a chaste kiss before running a hand over the curve of your hip. Letting out a hum you closed your eyes and just enjoyed the feeling of his hand on your skin. You stayed like that for a short while, neither one of you daring to break the silence. 

He sighed, “gotta get to work soon, darlin’.” You knew it was coming but you had hoped to prolong it for as long as you could. “I know,” you paused before pulling him closer with a grin. “But for now, you’re all mine.” He matched your grin, hovering over you before pulling you in for a kiss.

 Cobb Vanth was many things but most importantly, he was yours.
