“Thank you….Thank you so much.” 

Gratefulness mixed with relieve as she gave another bow, deeper than before; As thanks and of respect. 

“I promise you I will not let you down…” Glancing up with the brightest smile she had given all week, eyes sparkling silver in the light of the room-Or was that because they were glistening from tears that she was holding back? 

“….Master.” 

Finally, her hard work was finally going to pay off. She was going to make her father proud, and prayed she’d make him ever prouder. It will only get tougher, but this was what she had been training for as long as she could remember. 

“You don’t need to thank me. It is the will of the Force.” Iris say, bowing slightly to her new padawan. 

Reina’s smile and happiness were all that Iris needed. It filled her with such a joy that she couldn’t describe. Made her feel so bad for not doing this earlier. 

“I know you’ll be a great padawan, Reina.”

With Iris being so quiet, her words caught the trainee off guard. Soon standing straight as she withdrew both sides of her light saber. Hands by her side as she gave a bow of greeting. 

“You are correct, I am Reina…Reina Yamamoto-”

Wait…What?

“F…Forgive me Master Iris…I think I may have misheard you…” This wasn’t happening was it? She didn’t want to get her hopes up too quickly. “You….Want…To choose me?….” Hopeful yet…At the same time traces of disbelief. So sure that she would never be chosen, so sure that she would always be considered a burden in this line of work.

 “….If…If that is true…Why?..Why me?….”

Three more days.. That was all she had left. Reina understood of course; She was getting older, certainly not a little youngling anymore that was certain. It was a shame, passing with flying colours one of the best-Well for someone so tuned into the force and for being blind at any rate. Yet still she lacked a Master who was willing to train her, they marvelled her abilities and yet.. She was never the one chosen. So she continued training, continuing the hard work she carried out everyday.

Being over at the Temple for most of the time, Iris was used at taking care of the Jedi Archives in the library or watching over padawans and younglings. There was one in particular that caught her eye. She felt terribly bad for poor Reina. The girl had a lot of talent in her, she could feel it in the Force, but she was never chosen by any Masters, which was sad. And her time was almost up...  Master Bikini had suggested her to take her in as her own padawan and perhaps it would be the right thing to do. The Jedi woman approached the blind girl quietly.

Iris was brought to the Jedi Temple along with her twin sister, Dahlia. Iris was taken as padawan by Master Bikini. As for Dahlia, she left the Jedi Temple and her whereabouts are unknown, but it’s rumored she may have fallen to the Dark Side due to her own ambitions.

Iris is a quiet Jedi that prefers diplomacy over battle and she can mostly be found in the Jedi Temple’s library, helping to take care of the archives or helping to look after padawans and younglings.

Iris was outside the temple, caring for her duties as usual. It was a relief to be back and she was glad Sister Bikini had accepted her despite the incident that caused Mystic Misty’s death. Eveything Iris did was to protect her cousin, Maya from her evil twin sister and her revenge plan. In the end it worked, but at the cost of Mystic Misty’s life. Now she was back at Hazakura Temple to clean herself from her sins.... once again.

The weather was nice and calm, despite being January. This month only reminded her more and more of the incident and even though she was trying not to think of it by distracting herself with tasks, it was nearly impossible at times. Whenever she thought of it, she cried silently, feeling guilty, especially when she thought of Phoenix. She wondered how he was doing now and hoped he was okay. He was better off without her, anyway.

That’s when she sees the lonely figure of a man in the distance, looking as sad and lonely as she was. 

“I do not know how to explain it… But I just know the exact day when he is going to die… Along with everyone else.” She replied.

Honestly, Iris didn’t know why but she could see numbers around people that slowly ticked down… Some larger than others and after observing one that was very low; she learnt that they were a countdown to their death.

She has seen Phoenix’s number and she saw how large it was when she checked on him… The girl also checked on the other people he cared about.

“As such I’m not scared of you making threats to end the people’s lives.”

“So you died and gained prescience powers? Tsk.”

Dahlia didn’t think that was a useful power to have, but it was her sister anyway. She had been useless in life and so would be useless in death as well. It was still a bit intriguing that she could foresee when a person was going to die.

A calm smile remained on the black hair girl’s face even when was her sister was feeling the opposite…

Once upon a time, she would beg for her sister to not stain her hand but that was a lifetime ago and Iris had a small trick up her sleeve that kept the calmness within her.

“I know when Feenie is going to die and it’s going be a long time until he draws his final breath.”

“And how do you know that? How are you so certain?” 

“Having a hard time with an enemy of yours? I feel ya.”

“Perish, Dollie. You perishing is how you can get rid of me.”

There was a moment of silence from the girl before a small smile formed on her face as if the girl wasn’t a concern in the slightest despite the threat that Dahila had made if the man in red worked with her.

“You be surprised what luck, Feenie has on his side.” Iris responded. “That you might find that he’s harder to kill then you think even with this man on your side, Dahila.”

The look on his sisters face surprised Dahlia. She thought her sister would be begging her to not hurt her precious Feenie, but she seemed... too calm about her threats.

Iris listen carefully to the other’s explanation carefully, her head tilting to the side, as she had to admit it was rather interesting to hear about a man gaining supernatural powers from a meteorite that killed him.

“It’s certainly intriguing… And I can’t imagine that you would do with these powers.” She responded… Actually, the maiden could imagine some of the things her sister would do and none of them was good.

“If everything goes right, he’ll accept my deal. And I hate to break those news to you, my dear sister, but your dear ‘Feenie’ will soon join us in the afterlife if the man in red agrees to work with me.”

“So we meet again, Dahlia Hawthorne. It looks like even in the afterlife you are a thorn in my side. What will it take to get rid of you for good?”

“It’s nice to see you again, Dahlia.” Iris replied simply as it was clear she was only greeting to be polite before she listened to the other with small curiosity in her eyes.

She met a guy who was dead but still walking around? How was that possible?

“It does sound like something out of a horror movie when you word it like that… And a meteorite? What’s interesting about a meteorite?”

Dahlia still doesn’t know how her sister ended up there, but it was a funny coincidence. Both Hawthorne sisters dead. How delightful.

“Well, he basically said it was the meteorite who made him like this. A walking ghost with supernatural powers coming from the same thing that killed him. Intriguing, don’t you think, sister?”

Iris knew she would come across her twin sister sooner or later however she wasn’t expecting it to be now.

“Well… I can’t really you blame you there since there’s only so much we can do as ghosts… And how are you going get the power anyway?”

“Dear sister, what a surprise to see you here on the other side.” There’s sarcasm in her tone as Dahlia plays with her hair nonchalantly.
