And there is a lot of pressure from people expecting certain things from canon characters here. That's not something I want to deal with, so I decided to use an OC instead. Hi! Black person here. Braids are a protective hairstyle for black people, so yes, you should not be using it for nonblack characters. If you aren't black, you don't and shouldn't be having a say in this matter. I am tired of people trying to steal our culture and claim it as their own.
