“So,” He takes a long drag of his cigarette, “Is that your boyfriend or just your newest addiction?”

The words don’t land with the insult James clearly intended. Regulus is more amused than offended because it would be absurd to assume that Regulus could be addicted to anyone other than James. But Regulus is also a petty little shit and a little pissed off that he didn’t get what he wanted.

“Can you blame me?” Regulus taunts without looking at James. “He called me hot.” He smirks around his cigarette and shrugs, feigning indifference.

James huffs a humorless laugh through his nose. “That’s all it takes to get a dance like that from you? Damn, I wish I would’ve known that sooner, I would’ve stopped calling you pretty ages ago.”

They go on a small side quest with a deep dive into Finding Nemo—including a sidebar on the proper use of fish vs fishes (James prefers fishies)—then back to Finding Nemo where they end up talking about why the shark was named Bruce, which prompts a short discussion about Spielberg movies, that starts a debate on the best types of cereal (there’s a connection, trust him). And at some point they get back to the snorkeling conversation and pick up right where they left off.

Regulus rolls slightly so he can prop his chin on James’ chest and look up through his lashes. “A little cock drunk at the moment.” Regulus smiles and James huffs a laugh and continues to rub his hands up and down Regulus’ back. “I’m good, I promise. Just thinking.” Regulus assures him.

“About what?”

“About what else is in that box.” Regulus smirks.

James’ hands still for half a second. “Really?” Regulus nods as James’ hands resume their movements. “The box usually doesn’t come out on the first date.”

“Re… Regulus.” Regulus stammers.

“Okay, Regulus,” His name flows like silk from Potter’s lips and Regulus has to hold in a whimper. “Please stop looking directly at the camera.” He sends Regulus a knowing smirk and Regulus tries not to blush at being caught staring.

Regulus takes James’ hands in his and interlaces their fingers. “First, I had to make sure you were going to stay very—” Regulus presses one of their interlocked hands into the mattress beside James’ head. “—very still.” He presses their other hands down, caging James in. “Can you do that for me?” James nods quickly and Regulus lets go of his hands. “Don’t move.” James nods again and Regulus leans lower to whisper in James’ ear. “Good boy.” James groans and throws his head back, exposing his throat, but doesn’t move his hands.
