send 🐢 for a mental health headcanon ;Mental health? What mental health. Ever since finding out Gerald manipulated his memories, Shadow’s doubted his mind. His thoughts, his feelings, his opinions - he’s constantly second-guessing himself. This was made worse when Black Doom got his manipulative claws in there, and the whole stint with amnesia. Speaking of amnesia - Shadow’s deeply afraid of losing his memories again. All those thoughts, experiences, connections with people - He’s constantly worried that he’ll wake up one day and that’ll all be gone. In a cruel sort of joke, his mind interprets this in a way that gives him recurring nightmares of other people forgetting him.

send 💣 for a stress headcanon ;Shadow tries to hide when he’s stressed, but he’s... Not very good at it. His quills will bristle, his pupils will contract (revealing them to be reptile-style slits), and his ears get kinda twitchy. He’ll keep brushing his quills back and fixing his chest-fluff, much like a cat would groom themselves to calm down.Stress is somewhat of a constant, emotional background radiation to his life. Luckily his healing factor nullifies any damage caused by the absurd amount of teeth-grinding he does in his sleep...

Send 😡 for an anger headcanon ;Despite what most people assume, Shadow’s anger isn’t ‘loud’. He’s not the same kind of hot-head that Knuckles is. His rage is quiet, seething, growing and heaving as he pushes it down and down and down until he explodes. Violently, destructively... It’s not pretty. And he’s an angry crier.

send 💩 for a ridiculous headcanon ;Shadow gets a manner of ‘bedhead’, except it’s with his magnificent chest fur. After a particularly rough sleep it looks like someone’d electrified a tribble and glued it to his chest.

Food && Drink Headcanons;

Because Shadow is a genetically engineered abomination superior lifeform, he can survive most poisons and toxins with consequences rarely worse than slight nausea. Because of this, his dietary habits can be a bit... Unusual at times.

He’ll just straight up eat things like oxo cubes and sugar packets (paper and all). The most well known of his weird food fixation is raw coffee beans, which he’ll just scarf down like they’re cheeseballs or something.
