Ultimate Detective Showdown

Welcome all near and wide to the Ultimate Dective Showdown! There have been many beloved fictional detectives over the years, old established characters and the swaggiest of newcomers! But it is finally time to determine just who is the best, ultimate, beloved Detective of them all.

Rules

No real people - I don’t even know who would do that for this poll but. Just in case.

Feel free to submit as many characters as you’d like, but please do not submit the same one more than once

The character must be a detective of some sort- solving crimes, private investigator, all of that. But the characters main profession or activities but be detective-ing (Ex: Phoenix Wright, although a crime solver, is not a considered a detective, so he wouldn’t count. Dick Gumshoe from the same games however, is explicitly a detective and would definitely count!)

This poll also acts as a way of determining Tumblr’s favorite detective, so most contestants will be chosen via number of submissions. So make sure to submit a form for your favorite detectives!

The Sherlock problem - Sherlock Holmes is arguably one of the most famous detective out there, and being as such, there are so many different incarnations of him. All of these different variations will be allowed in the competition but please, when submitting a character with the name of Sherlock Holmes, be VERY CLEAR which Holmes this is.

This is ultimately a funny tumblr poll so don’t get too serious, and remember to stay silly!!

Here it is: a poll bracket to determine the best take on the Sherlock Holmes character concept. I will be accepting submissions in the form of asks until FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 17, at 6 P.M. All characters submitted will appear! (if they are legitimately a take on Sherlock Holmes) I will have a few pre-tournament polls to get the number of contestants to a power of two, and then from there we will have a more standard bracket system. so every character submitted *will* get a chance!
