Dato’ Peter T.S. Ng founded UCSI University in 1986 as the Canada Institute of Computer Science. Under his leadership, the school developed into a college, university college and finally a full-fledged university in 2008. Dato’ Peter also oversaw the establishment of the UCSI Group business conglomerate and currently serves as its chairman.  Under UCSI Group, Dato’ Peter has established 20 subsidiary companies with business interests in education, corporate training, business consultancy, healthcare, hospitality, information communication technology and construction.  Dato’ Peter obtained his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Heriot-Watt University, United Kingdom in 1994 while building and running the Group. He also holds bachelor’s degree in computer science and psychology from Lakehead University, Ontario, Canada.  In his professional history, Dato' Peter has held the following roles and positions: Founding Chairman of the Malaysian Logistics Society (2002-2004). Governing Council member/Chairperson (publications and events), Malaysia Canada Business Council (1998-2005). Advisor, Malaysian Chapter of the Canadian Graduates Association (since 1998). Member of the Governing Council, Malaysian Association of Private Colleges & Universities (1998 to 2005), Deputy Secretary General (2005-2007), Secretary General (2007- now). In addition to his own business, Dato’ Peter also worked closely with Professor W. Chan Kim in establishing a Blue Ocean Strategy Institute (BOSI) in Malaysia, currently serving as an advisor. The Institute is a world-renowned business consultancy firm with select branches throughout the world. Dato’ Peter is also a founding member of the UCSI Blue Ocean Strategy Regional Centre which serves as a BOS leader for 10 countries including Malaysia, Australia, Canada, China, India, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.  In recent years, Dato’ Peter has received significant recognition for his expertise on education and management-related subjects. In 2007, he served as Intervener at the Langkawi International Dialogue on “Poverty Eradication Through Human Capital Development and Capacity-Building,” hosted by the Malaysian Prime Minister. In 2010, Dato' Peter was awarded “Entrepreneur of the Year” for the Star Outstanding Business Awards in recognition of his entrepreneurial spirit as the founder of UCSI University. , He was also short-listed as a top nominee for the 2007 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year and has beenfeatured with five other best-in-class personas in a campaign themed, The Perfectionist - Presented Exclusively by Accord (Honda Malaysia), aimed to inspire audiences to strive for excellence in their pursuit of success.  In his spare time, Dato’ Peter enjoys playing basketball and mentoring young people to help them achieve their goals.

The Chancellor's Chair embodies motifs and themes that represent the overall guiding philosophy of UCSI University: unity, community, scholarship, and integrity. These values are etched into every curve and fine details of its intricate carvings.  The chair highlights the sovereign nature of the office of the Chancellor, signifying the passion and the power of the Office while simultaneously symbolising the stature embodied in UCSI University: majesty, bravery, sacrifice and innovation.

The golden globe of UCSI University's mace is wrought in 24K gold to represent the international quality of the education offered by UCSI University.  The "wings" holding the globe symbolises students from all over the world united in pursuing one common objective: Quality Education.  The two petal-like layers of pewter - an outer layer engraved with a black floral motif over an inner layer - and four rings just below the base of the "wings" signify the many challenging steps that students undergo before they successfully complete their education.

Kuala Lumpur: The Accommodation Services Unit (ASU) is one of several units parked under the Student Affairs & Alumni Office. As management, part of our role is to observe cleanliness and maintenance of the hostel, to establish security and safety in the residential halls, to ensure that integration between the residents is maintained, and that the rules and regulations of the hostel are adhered, to ensure students would enjoy their learning and living at UCSI University.
