HELLO ANON!!! perfect timing because i just got back from lion dance practice so i have lion dance on the brain (also i messed up my shoulder at practice but it's okay i'll sleep it off)

in the 3 doodles i posted shiver (aka fuuka here) wasn't seen with a lion BUT that's not to say they aren't a lion dancer! they are actually a japanese lion dancer, as you can see below in these refs!!

here you can also see my headcanons for the trio for this au!! and their new names. shiver is practically unchanged but frye and big man (farah & guifu/jaime) got some new stuff to em (and big man's family name is indeed mantateus, i was feeling silly. i don't remember why i chose jaime though, one day i'll rediscover past me's thought process)

guifu is chinese-brazilian as there's a fair amount of chinese immigrants in south america, brazil included. tbh i don't remember much about the lion dancing scene in south america but there's definitely a few troupes and they do have competitions there... not that this matters as much bc this is an au i can do what i want + this is probably in the west coast of the usa where there's like 1 billion lion dance troupes

as for farah, she is indian-malay. the lion dance scene is HUGE in malaysia and every two years the world lion dance competition is held in malaysia. of course it's chinese-malaysians who brought lion dancing and similar dances to msia, but since it's so widespread in msia a lot of ethnic malays and indian-malaysians participate in lion dancing too. there's even an all-indian lion dance troupe in malaysia!

now in terms of lore... umm i'm sorry i haven't worked on this au so much so there's like 0 lore. i originally made these designs for fun but maybe one day i'll work more on like, lore and stuff! the only idea i have rn is that guifu's one of the shifus of his troupe and that's about it. eek. however i'm making sure that shivrye stays alive and well.

so maybe in the future i'll keep working on it and adding more to the au!! no guarantees but i'll try my best bc they are very important to me...
