I personally feel like the amount of items in Pocket Camp makes Horizons look bad and dull, for me I enjoy cozy slow games so it was worth my money but I’ll try to explain a little for you to decide if you would go for it or not… also i’m on IOS I think if you know a friend who has the game you can log in their AppStore and download it for free if they already purchased it ^.^ I haven’t tried it with games but have with Procreate it works

So you have your camper van and you can expand it and decorate it in and out (I just started mine looks ugly)

And of course you have your camp which you can decorate and organize with LOTS of different items not available in Horizons

You have a garden as well to grow flowers and cross pollinate them to get different seeds or harvest them for trade with Lloid where you can also purchase new seeds from him

Pocket Camp has adorable fortune cookies! And yes the dialogue gets so repetitive but I love opening them daily to see what new items I get, kinda like blind boxes it’s addictive. You get two cookies for bells daily resetting and there are many other cookies with different item themes which you can get by spending Leaf Tokens (in game currency) the “complete cookie catalog” shows all the cookies available in game and you need “complete tickets to get one cookie (in game currency) opening cookies with Leaf Tokens or Complete Tickets gives you stamps and once you get 10 stamps you can trade them for items available in cookies ^.^

You can unlock and relive special memories as well

You have a planner (like a notebook) where you can add stickers to reflect your mood daily and you can purchase nee planner designs and stickers with Leaf Tokens (I WISH WE HAD THAT IN HORIZONS SO CUTE)

The map shows multiple islands you can go to with your camper van, 4 new villagers appear every 3 hours on each islands and you can fulfill 3 of their requests to level up your friendship with them and you can ask them to move to your camp. Each villager has a different personality and they will ask you to craft items that suit their personality before they can move in your camp. You can fish, catch bugs and harvest fruits. Leveling up your friendship with villagers grants you hearts which levels up your character level unlocking more villagers and items also leveling up your friends with them allows you to dress them up so cute. You can assign a camp taker who will basically fulfill requests when you are offline but won’t progress your friendship level will only give you rewards and they will gathers items for you as well as walk beside you everywhere. There is an island where K.K performs and any player you add will sometimes appear there and give you gifts ( there is no online play) you can find treasure maps for Blathers and will allow you to go get treasure. There is an island called Happy Homeroom which is a designing school like Happy Home Paradise where you can design rooms based on a theme and you get a score at the end, you need HH Vouchers to design a room and they reset daily. Then there’s Pete who can deliver items to the villagers without you having to go to them personally, and Gulliver can go to far islands and gets you a souvenir which can be a fortune cookie! You need to give him items to export so he can sail away so just give him fish or bugs you don’t need and won’t sell.

I know I yapped a lot yet I feel I missed a lot, but hopefully you can tell if it’s your type of fun, it can get repetitive yes it’s so simple but I love collecting and designing, it’s cozy. Right now there is August Seasonal Event, participate in fishing to get high scores to unlock the rewards. The game now is purchase once and play, before it was full of micro transactions which gave me huge FOMO because I couldn’t pay for cute outfits or hairstyles so I stopped and came back now and honestly I like that I can get everything the game has to offer with just playing rather than spending my money.
