AZ just looming angrily over Vinnie is such a hilarious image to me. He’s still kind enough to stand several feet back so Vinnie doesn’t have to crane too far to have eye contact, but still close enough to use his height as a power move. Truly the definition of “he’s just standing there, menacingly”.

Do you think it took him a while to realize that in reviving Floette, in slaughtering thousands of Pokémon just to bring her back, that he lengthened his lifespan (and Floette's, by proxy)? How many decades did he have to live through to realize he never knew when he was going to pass away, if someone didn't murder him first?

Do you think he buried many, many Pokemon that he raised by his own hand before he stopped training Pokemon with "short" lifespans? When we first meet AZ, after all, he has a Torkoal, a Golurk, and a Sigilyph- all Pokemon with long lifespans (the latter two implied to be or effectively immortal, requiring little food to survive, and known to be able to endure harsh environments or wander endlessly).

Do you think he wandered not because he was shunned by society (the Pokémon world is, after all, a rather accepting place; a man his height could probably find somewhere to place down roots), but because he saw it pointless to stay in one place when everything changes in the blink of an eye, and people have the lifespan of dogs to him?

but i also like to imagine he's probably not as bad as he used to be, because meta knight himself has become a more heroic person and this has to "reflect" in dark meta knight somehow. which is perhaps why he was temperate enough to be doodling with the others in his star allies guest star ending pic, and also why he protected adeleine and ribbon in his character trailer. imo that spoke volumes not just for dark meta knight but for meta knight, implying that his chivalry still exists even in the darkest cockles of his heart (offering kirby a sword even though he was possessed by the jamba heart seems to point to that as well).
