Why would anyone want a dare?  Social convention would say they have to complete it to avoid ridicule from their peers, regardless of what they’re asked to do.  I refuse to take part in such pointless traditions.

You say that like it’s not important for children especially to know important safety information.  I’m providing a public service.

And people wonder why our education system is one of the worst.  Because we don’t take advantage of teachable moments.

It’s not hyperfocus.  It’s teaching.  I was explaining the concept of true randomness.  I didn’t even get into the points about how casting can’t be done by pointing to someone in the crowd.  I mean can you even imagine Starwars if they just walked into a crowd and pointed at someone for Darth Vader’s voice?  We might have gotten Christopher Walken instead of James Earl Jones.  That would have been a disaster.

How am I to know if someone chosen randomly can portray James Bond?  I can’t.  That being said, the school chose the individuals who attend Romily.  That’s like picking a marble from a bag only holding red and blue marbles and calling it random.  You’re also assuming that if you close your eyes and point you’re going to have an equally likely chance of hitting any name on that list, and based on the length of the school’s population that just isn’t true.  I could write a computer program for randomness, but anyone who knows anything knows computer random programs are not true randomness.  You clearly do not understand this mathematical concept.

I’ll also remind you that our school population is not a random selection.  To be a true random selection we would draw from the population as a whole.

I know it’s a game but how a I supposed to play this game when people don’t play it right?  It’s about asking questions and I can’t answer an incomplete question.

@misfitwithatemper​ I can’t answer that question with this many unknowns.  For one, by random selection, do you mean the people here?  Because that is not a random selection, that’s just picking from a finite set.  If you mean to just choose randomly, well a role like James Bond must be chosen carefully and be based on an audition.  Ian Fleming had at least 16 people who inspired this character, I would need to base their auditions off what I know about these Naval Intelligence Officers.  I would also want to study previous portrayals of James Bond again, to make sure the person really understood the character.
