“I have enough healthy stuff considering I can’t digest the things I used to love anymore.” Tiberius said with a pout, trying to get some sympathy out of the man. “Honey-almond?” He furrowed his brows.

“Something with almonds in it.” Tiberius called back. His nose wrinkling at the banana cupcakes option. He stood up to go to the kitchen doorway, pouting visibly. “Healthy, healthy, healthy. Why do you never make triple chocolate pound cake with a whole bag of morsels and too much sugar?”

“Wha-- beer in the car?” Tiberius repeated. If nothing else, that got him up. He pushed off the table and began stumbling towards the door. Determined to get to the drink.

“I have many doubts my name is that well-known in such circles.” Amusingly, he actually took a moment to consider that. It’d always been his dream. But, nowadays, he was only known for the catastrophe that led him down the path of Mister Fantastic.

“You can work alongside me without being my assistant, you know.”

“Your doubts are unwarranted. Trust me, they are. I mentioned it at work and people went nuts.” Tiberius insisted. 

With a nervous laugh, Steve sat back in his chair, wiping the sweat off his brow. Had it gotten really hot in here, or was that just him?

“I know, I know,” he said, still laughing that nervous laugh of his.

“You don’t know the extent of you sucking, though.” Tiberius insisted with a pout. “You better feed me, since you rudely didn’t let me finish my dance.”

His eyes ran over the young man at the door. His limbs slowly shrinking back to their original state as he took a seat in the uncomfortable stool he’d stolen from another lab table.

“Uh…” A TA? Right. Teachers had those. He never wanted to be a teacher. He felt he couldn’t… reach out to the students or understand them on such levels. So, maybe a TA was… a good match for him. Maybe two. He surely needed the help.

“And, you have at least basic knowledge on Physics?”

“Basic... uh. I’ve got a degree in it.” Tiberius admitted with a chuckle. “I’ve got several degrees, actually. Mostly, I just want to work with you. Not a science nerd in this day and age that doesn’t know your name.”

Probably.

Clearing his throat, the blond stared at Ty, crossing his arms over his chest. “Y-y’know,” he started, “now that I think ‘bout it, when Emma gave me a, uh, lapdance, it wasn’t that bad of an experience.”

Tiberius stopped when he admitted Emma’s lap dance wasn’t a bad experience. Which made him rethink his whole position. Competition was instilled in his brain, so if Emma didn’t do bad, he couldn’t do bad -- and, he didn’t know how to strip at all. He could barely dance to music that wasn’t synced with a waltz or a broadway show.

With a pout, he dropped on the couch. “You suck.”

When he found the man in one of the corners, stretched out and working on too many things at once, Tiberius just took a moment to watch him. Almost entranced. “This is all wildly insane,” he admitted, attempt to break the man from his concentration.

“Anyway, I heard you had a TA position open and well... I’m clearly the best guy for the job.” He said matter-of-factly.
