Steve has no idea what he’s doing, but damn it, at least he’ll try. (And in doing so, he’ll probably end up doing something stupid. That’s the way things go, anyhow.)

In which Scott doesn’t understand how horseracing became so fancy or why Emma is wearing a bird on her head.

In which Josh used to attend events like this regularly and knows exactly what to do, but is struggling since he no longer feels he can fit it.

She’s no stranger to the derby scene. Having grown up around horses and in a wealthy family, she knows her way aroud the track. A faithful attendant since she could walk, Ema doesn’t mind spending silly amount of money on a hat  for just a few hours of mingling and elbow rubbing. She mostly, and still does, go to see the horses.
