"Yeah, don't put your curse on us." Jesse was laughing again, but it wasn't quite as hysterical as it had been before. "Not sure hosing them would've had the effect you think it would've, Ty." He snorted, a sudden memory of Faye standing in the pouring rain, confessing her feelings for him, taking over his mind for a moment. As Tyler looked at him, Jesse tried to read from his expression if he thought that Robbie was lying, but as he had been told before, it wasn't always that easy to tell when the person believed the lie; Robbie certainly seemed sure of his response.
Jesse followed Robbie to the mirror, grabbing at his collar to get a better look. "Jesus Christ, Rob. I'm shocked you still have a head." Honestly, wouldn't have been entirely beyond the realm of possibility if Isabel had eaten his head like a praying mantis. "Glad you survived." Tyler told him to keep his clothes on, but Jesse would be lying if he said he didn't want to know how messed up he was. He turned to Tyler, "And I guess we'll just have to take your word for that?"
@robbie-wilson-hih
"You think? Coop did mention something about not letting Juli... Kitchenette find out. Maybe she already did, maybe she already cursed me." Robbie's eyes wandered to his buttons as he doom-spiralled, "cursed to fuck bad bitches forever." As far as curses go this one wasn't that bad, actually, and Robbie shrugged before winking at them both for their hosing idea. "Next time," he joked, knowing that wasn't in the realm of possibility.
Content that Tyler seemed content - which meant that Jesse must also be content - that he was telling the truth and nothing but the truth, Robbie felt ready to move swiftly on from emotions, happy to have the focus on to his physical battle wounds. "Oh man, same," he agreed as Jesse inspected him, "but I would have died a happy man, know that." Finally, however, the attention was where it belonged all along, which was on Tyler. "Yeah, fat chance of that. Did she threaten to kill you if you told anyone how it went down? Is that it? I can empathise. You're in a safe space, Tyler."
@ty-manning
"You think that Juli... Kitchenette... the ultimate evil, the worst of the worst, the Palpatine of Havensdale Valley, has decided to curse you with unstoppable horny-ness?" Tyler couldn't have face-palmed any further than he already had. Robbie was always trying to tango with danger, wasn't he? Tyler only hoped he could continue to charm, fly or nepo-baby his way outta it. He fought off a smile as Jesse laughed and tried to no avail to get this conversation back on track. Well, assuming it had been on track to begin with.
"Rest in pieces, man," Tyler said. His mouth fell open as Robbie and Jesse both seemed to turn the tables on him. Unbelievable! "Wait, hold on. How has this become about me? I believe we were discussing your- your shenanigans, not mine!" Tyler shook his head at them both. "There was no button bursting or decapitation on my watch, thank you very much. Besides, it only basically happened once. The first time was so awkward it barely counts and then... I was just being used for my hot bod. Once. More or less. And hey! I was hidden under the covers, fighting for air, while Cooper came busting in to announce to the room that he and Juliette- Kitchenette- had just done it for the first time. These are not comparable scenarios." Jeez, he hadn't thought about that in forever... Isabel and Cooper. Cooper and Juliette. Tyler didn't know anything forsure and it can't have been necessary to even think it let alone say it but... "Look, I just wouldn't plan on catching any kind of feelings here, Rob. Okay?"
"A literal string or a figurative string?"
"Figurative. If you ever come across something with a literal string attached to it, do not pull it, do not pick up - don't even make eye contact. Just walk - don't run - away."

Everything was too hilarious, until suddenly, it wasn't. "Tyler's right, man. Whatever it is that Joey and Isabel are doing... it's really not our business." Jesse's brow furrowed as he pulled a chair over to sit down. "And whatever they're doing–or not doing–doesn't justify her cheating on him." Maybe they had broken up though–how were they really to know?–but he knew that whatever occurred in this room last night hadn't been planned. It was probably as much of a shock to Robbie as it was to them. What was worrying him the most, though, was how much it seemed to be affecting his friend.
It took him a second to regulate his thoughts after the reminder that Robbie had hooked up with the childhood love of his life, Ruby McReid. Was he just a magnet for badass women? "Hey, Joey aside, why wouldn't she want you like that? We were both in that room last night... It was hard to miss the way she was looking at you." It wasn't like him to have his confidence shaken like this, and it was a little unnerving. For the second time, Jesse caught Tyler's eye–this time with mild concern on his features, and he followed up Tyler's question with, "And do you... like her?" He felt like an awkward fifth grader asking him, but someone had to! He had more to say, but it was swiftly erased from his brain as something caught his eye. "What–... What's that on your neck?"
@robbie-wilson-hih
Robbie gave the finger to the door as Jamie yelled from outside it, "rude." He finally lowered it, replacing it with a misplaced triumphant grin as he thought they were all finally in agreement, "Exactly! None of our business! Not our circus, and not our clowns, or whatever." The grin faltered quickly when he figured out that they were not in fact quite seeing eye to eye on this whole situation yet, punctuated by the labelling of Isabel as the cheater. Was it really cheating? It didn't feel like cheating. If she was going to cheat on Joey surely she would have aimed higher? "No, this was an act of god. Maybe we're cursed."
He nodded along as Tyler recounted the night, "these things do happen." On the cusp of blushing at Jesse bigging him up, Tyler nearly broke Robbie's neck with his question, "holy shit, no." Jesse then made an attempt on his life too, "Ew, no, gross!" Some friends, huh? "She has no redeeming features," he'd reminded himself how awful she was all morning and was about to launch into an epic speech about it, but then Jesse brought forth vivid flashbacks of exactly how he got those marks, "except that." He shot up to inspect his neck in the mirror, mostly impressed the scratches were still there. "You should see the rest of me."
@ty-manning
"Maybe you're cursed, Rob," Tyler countered. Regardless of what had happened with Isabel and Tyler in the past, it clearly had nothing on whatever had happened last night. He thought about asking if Robbie thought that it had been a distraction for her. Tyler was sure that's what he'd been. He thought about asking if Robbie liked her, but decided against it. "That's true, though. You two practically needed to be hosed down last night. Pretty disrespectful in front of the big man, actually," Tyler chastised, meaning the Marshmallow Man in 'Ghostbusters'. Tyler looked back to Jesse, eyebrows raised as he took the plunge and asked the question. Tyler didn't like to think that anything could shake Robbie's confidence, his unwavering self-esteem, but Jesse was doing a great job of hyping him back up.
Talk about protesting too much, huh? Tyler narrowed his eyes, trying to work out if Robbie was lying or not. Things got tricky when someone thought they were telling the truth. He looked away, not wanting to get caught using his... well, 'power'. "Gross, uh huh," he mused, looking over at Jesse again. Tyler's jaw dropped when Jesse pointed out the evidence on Robbie's neck, watching as he inspected himself in the mirror. "Robbie... keep your clothes on, please." His face was back in his palms again as he added a muffled, "For the record, that never happened to me!" @broho-jesse
The smile on Jesse's face could only be compared to the Cheshire Cat; he was having too much of a good time with this revelation, and could only be thankful that absolutely none of it involved him. But no, Robbie was right and Jamie shouldn't be privy to this line of conversation–there was no world that he would be conversing about sex with his sister in the room, never mind actually discussing it with her. "Yeah, you've really done a good job of not exposing this gossip to the Podcast Queen over here." He pointed to Jamie, "Come on. It's the hall for you, I'm afraid." Jesse pulled her by the arm–sword dragging along with her–guiding her out the room and swiftly locking the door. She could probably still hear them in here, but at least he wouldn't have to look at her.
"Anyway, I'm with Ty. If Faye ever done anything, I'd want to hear it from her over anyone else, but either Joey somehow manages to stay in the dark, or Isabel tells him and you're toast–beard, or no beard." The most blame was obviously on Isabel here, but it's not like Robbie didn't know about her and Joey. "But circling back from your impending doom... what do you mean, she's an animal? Haven't you ever lost a few buttons before?" Jesse would've lost far more than he already had if Faye had the upper body strength for it, or would at least stop giggling during her attempts.
@robbie-wilson-hih
"What do you mean?" Robbie's eyes narrowed at Tyler's fluster and apparent button-ownership, but tripled in size as Jesse reminded him of Jamie's weirdly popular hobby. "Shit. Hey! This isn't podcast material, young lady. You can't be spilling the secrets of the underground. That's, like, highly classified." He was too busy trying to save his own skin to even notice she was still holding onto his sword as she was escorted out. "And my uncle's the sheriff!"
Turning back to Tyler and Jesse he shrugged his shoulders theatrically, "I literally cannot relate at all." It was no lie - he had never been tied down to a relationship of his own, and frankly, faced with the whole Scott/Carrie/Alex situation, he definitely thought Carrie should keep that locked down and hidden forever. "And anyway, have you seen them together? Whatever they're doing, they're not doing that." Robbie said with frantic confidence, hand covering his stomach as it cramped at the mere idea that Joey and Isabel might be doing that. Was he really jealous of the guy whose girlfriend he had just railed? What the fuck.
"Uh," Robbie dropped down on his bed, "I mean Ruby is in my top three life events for a reason but this--," Robbie realised he wouldn't be able to articulate everything that had been done, but perhaps the vivid imagery wasn't necessary anyway. "You can kind of guess that Isabel's into some spicy stuff from her general attitude and demonic ways, but I didn't expect her to, like..." Robbie paused, feeling the way this sentence had got away from him, but deciding to push it through to the end regardless; "I didn't expect her to want me like that, I guess."
@j-amiemcarthur
He wouldn't want to find out from one of us. That was an 'us' that included Jamie, because she wasn't the one he was dating. She wasn't the one that he would want to tell him. Her spiralling thoughts were out of control, and Jamie had to scold herself for being upset over not being the girl in this fake scenario that had cheated on him. What an unhinged thing to be jealous about. But before she could shake herself out of her dissociation, Jesse was pulling her out of the room.
"Wait, what?" She tried to fight against him, but it was no use. "This room reeks of a sex dungeon, but as soon as we start talking about it, then it's inappropriate? This is bullshit!" Jamie hit the door with her fist as the lock clicked, and she huffed at the words Robbie had called after her before yelling back. "For this, I'll turn it into a whole segment! Everyone will know about your buttons, Robbie!"
@ty-manning
Tyler let out a long-suffering sigh, facepalming as Jesse ushered Jamie out of the room. He didn't know whether to laugh or cry as she shouted back about sex dungeons and Podcasts. He looked back up at the closed door, knowing she was on the other side, still listening. Close, just not close enough. Story of their lives. Tyler was pulled out of his thoughts by Jesse's button comment, shaking his head. He had grown to accept that Faye Montgomery was here to stay. Hell, she was even nice, now. It definitely didn't mean he wanted to hear about her button popping prowess.
"Whatever they're doing, is whatever they're doing," Tyler commented. Man, Joey really was going to kill him... Maybe they could keep Robbie hidden underground. And Joey was human, right? Robbie could shift into a cheetah, or something, and make a break for it if he needed to. Tyler refrained from rolling his eyes and crossed his arms instead as Robbie tried to find the words. He looked over to Jesse, meeting his eye while Robbie struggle to end the sentence. Oh boy, this couldn't be good. "Well, hey... it was a weird night, right? We basically talked about how Cooper's life is on the line every damn day, and we have to somehow save him. Then the whole place literally shook, and we went into lockdown like, a bajillion miles underground. It's not exactly a normal Tuesday. These things happen." Tyler paused then, before adding, "I guess the real question is... is it gonna happen again?"
@broho-jesse
"Well well well! Guess who has two thumbs and just so happened to find a cell phone that gets incredible reception, even with the Dome? That's right." @havensdalestarters
"When you 'found' it, was there a string attached?"
Robbie's head spun trying to keep up with the inquisition while his sword was being held hostage. Some kind of torture it was, hearing that thud against the floor, "it's for display, Jamie. C'mon. I'm begging." Tyler, still apparently hung up on the buttons like he hadn't lost something much grander to that same demon, was going to kill him - clearly his bestie had left a lot out of his retelling of that sequence of events. "Tyler, you kinky slut. Maybe I would've thought more if you'd told us what she was like, you-" Robbie turned to Jamie again, commanding, "cover your ears." Back to Tyler, he continued his dramatics, "she's an absolute animal. If you'd warned us, maybe the buttons would still be attached." Jesse made a good point through his fits of laughter, and Robbie snorted, "the bingo cards aren't going to fill themselves, okay? Noted for the future though. Besides, I think it's the beard. It's too powerful." He ran his hand over his chin, revelling in its existence while he still could, "I have to shave."
He was still commiserating when Joey was mentioned, and for a moment he was confused as to why he was relevant in all this. "Oh fuck," Robbie whispered as reality hit him, "wait no," he shook his head, "no, it's fine. She won't tell him - she made it pretty clear that no one was to know about this."
@j-amiemcarthur
Honestly, the more Robbie protested to her playing with his sword, the more she wanted to, so she spun it in her hand again. At the words directed to Tyler though, she faltered again, eyes catching his for the briefest moment before she diverted her gaze. Jamie had spent a long time trying to forget anyone that Tyler had had relations with, and she certainly didn't need the visuals of what he might have done with Isabel. God, what had Robbie done? Suddenly he was telling her to cover her ears, and she absolutely would not. "Robbie... I don't know how to tell you this, but... minus Tyler, we're all animals..." Her eyebrow raised as he started rambling about the power of his beard; was this really what guys talked about when they were alone? How did she end up in this inner circle of nerdom?
"Good job making sure no one knew about it." How did she ever think that Jesse and his friends were the coolest people in town? This was tragic. "How would I know if they broke up? I've been down here since... the school." Jamie didn't elaborate further, still not wanting to talk about what happened that night. "You can't seriously be okay with Joey not knowing his girlfriend cheated on him. I mean... wouldn't you all want to know?"
@ty-manning
"Wha--- I don't--- How dare---," Tyler could barely get his words out as Robbie's accusations came flying his way. He was caught up between trying not to look at Jamie - but their eyes met, anyway - and trying not to blush. He was scoffing his way into a full sentence while trying to process exactly what Robbie was saying. If he wasn't malfunctioning right now, he would have laughed at Jamie's 'we're all animals' comment, too. "Right, hold on! Let's just back this up for one freaking minute, please. There was nothing for me to tell, alright? There was no... I didn't... My buttons were left intact, sir!" he announced loudly.
Whatever had happened between Robbie, Isabel and his seemingly irresistible beard, had not been in Tyler's experience. "You so have to shave, man. Do it before Joey kills you." Tyler finally looked back to Jamie as she spoke, her question hanging in the air between them. Would he? If Tyler really thought about it, he'd realise that if Leila ever did... She wouldn't have to tell him, he'd know. Human lie detector, remember? "I wouldn't want to find out from one of us... Isabel will have to tell him." @broho-jesse
From the second they had walked into Robbie's room, all Jesse could smell was Isabel Valentine. From the looks she had given him, he was sure that Jamie could smell her too, but neither of them had dared to mention it. She seemed to be distracting herself with Robbie's replica of Link's Master Sword, but his train of thought was so all over the place, he almost didn't hear Tyler. He moved to stand beside Tyler, pressing his lips together at the sight of the buttons with snapped thread still attached to them–he knew exactly what these buttons were. Saying nothing, but absolutely ready to cackle, he turned his attention expectantly to Robbie.
@robbie-wilson-hih
The timing of The Boys plus, for some reason, Jamie's arrival upon Robbie's humble chambers could not have been worse. Isabel has only just made her escape in time to hopefully miss them entirely, but he'd barely even got around to making his bed. The pillows were not fluffed. His Marvel throw was carelessly draped over a chair. Embarrassing. He'd been distracted, granted, by something being quite clearly off-balance with his displays, and he couldn't for the life of him figure out why or what. This conundrum had completely overshadowed the mere existence of the buttons, and as Tyler pointed them out he died. Internally. From shame. "Shhhle-" The combined embarrassment of it all had parched his throat and drained his colour. Robbie coughed, turning his attention to Jamie because first things first; "that's not a toy. Have some... respect." Opting to quickly pocket the buttons in an effort to make them all forget, he shrugged at his friends, "I'm getting a witch to, uh, look at them." Fucking hell. He couldn't keep this quiet even if he wanted to. "And... I may have... Done..." he braced for Jesse's reaction, "Isabel."
@j-amiemcarthur
The second that Jamie walked into Robbie's room, she regretted it. Jesse and Tyler hadn't said a word about Isabel having done more than destroy them at Mario Kart, but even Tyler must be smelling her in here! Trying to get silent confirmation from Jesse was proving useless, so she had chosen to distract herself with Robbie's nerdy little sword. It wasn't until Tyler mentioned the buttons that she lifted her head, her swings slowing. At his scolding, Jamie stuck out her tongue, but the tip of the sword thwacked off the floor when Robbie confessed to his crimes. "Oh, you're telling me to have respect?" May have done Isabel–honestly! Still though, she was grinning like a maniac at this revelation.
@ty-manning
"I knew it!" Tyler exclaimed, shock still clear on his face as Robbie confessed. What choice did he have, really? Tyler was shaking his head, eyeing the pocket where those telltale buttons had been hidden away. Shamefully. Tyler wasn't trying to cause shit, and sure, his friends could do whatever they wanted but... this was asking for trouble. "What were you thinking? Were you thinking? I can't believe you lost perfectly good buttons over this, Robbie. Unbelievable." Of all the women in all the world - well, Havensdale - it had to be Isabel Valentine.
He was about to say something else, maybe about Isabel, maybe about the way Jamie was handling Link's Master Sword... when something else came to mind. "Wait. What about Joey?" @broho-jesse

Jesse cackle laughed, too amused with himself as Tyler tried to shut down the topic of Isabel's good looks. "Fine." He repeated with a snort–it was all too funny. "Sure you are." He wasn't prepared to argue with him on the subject, already feeling like he might fall over with laughter and never be able to get back up. He was just about pulling himself together, when he brought up his 'rockin' bod' and he was away again. "Okay. Okay, so..." Jesse had to stop to take a few deep breaths to calm down, "Right, what are we doing then? Do we storm to his room? Respectfully wait until morning to interrogate him? Do you think Carmen knows how to exercise a demon?" He paused for a long moment, gears still whirring in his brain. "You don't think her and Coop ever...?"
"Stop laughing. I'm serious-," Tyler said, very unseriously, as he barely held back his own laughter- "You're gonna set me off, c'mon, Jess. This is important stuff." He punctuated that point with an unexpected snort, trying his best to keep it together, but Jesse's delighted cackles were making it difficult. "There's no way I'm storming into his room. Robbie's my third pick for whose bare ass I'd want to accidentally walk in on. I think we'll just have to wait until then. I mean, hey, this is all speculation at the end of the day. Even if I'm definitely right. Carmen is frickin' terrifying, I wouldn't be surprised if she could scare a demon to death with one look." Tyler watched Jesse's brain hard at work, raising both his eyebrows at his question. There was a long-forgotten, unexpected, pang in his chest, too, which he promptly ignored. "No way. I mean... Right?"
They had taken him away. Right before her eyes, they had taken him from her and she had been powerless to do anything about it. Now he was somewhere deep in the recesses of the Underground and Jamie had no idea how to find him. What would she even do if she could? Had she not proven twice now that she wasn't strong enough to kill him? What were they doing to him? Were they hurting him? She couldn't decide if she wanted to be there to witness it, or if she wanted to stop them; Chris Andrews was hers to hurt–to kill. Around and around her spiralling thoughts went, ranging from break out plans to telling herself to move on, but she was stuck, full of a rage with no outlet.
Jamie wasn't ignorant of the chaos that was going on above ground, or that they seemed to be trapped down here while they tried to shift the rubble, but she couldn't find it in herself to care. Being a shifter, she was sure that nothing could truly trap her–not physically, at least–and she wasn't exactly feeling the most useful right now, so instead of even trying to help, she was hiding away in the med bay feeling sorry for herself.
Someone rushing past him caused a shift in the air and Jamie caught his scent before she saw him. Immediately, her mind stopped reeling and her head lifted to look at him, a smile already spreading across her lips. There was no hesitation when she leapt to her feet and pulled Tyler into a hug, her body healed enough that the pain of the movement was dulled. Eyes closed, face buried in his neck, she breathed out a quiet, "Hey."
Tyler barely had a second to think before she was on her feet, pulling him into a tight hug. He hesitated only a moment before wrapping his arms around her. She's okay. The relief that washed over him then was almost overwhelming. He hadn't realised how worried, how anxious, he'd been down here knowing she'd been hurt. Tyler couldn't stand the thought of her being in danger. He couldn't even begin to think about anything worse. The tightness in his chest gave way, his lungs aching as he held his breath. She's okay. "You're okay," he whispered, throat dry as he reluctantly loosened his grip.
His eyes were glistening with unshed tears as he looked at her. Tyler pressed his lips together, a thousand unsaid words on the tip of his tongue. All the things he should have said long before now, but didn't. He still couldn't. "You wouldn't believe how badly Isabel is wiping the floor with us at Mario Kart right now."
"I guess I could make some time for lunch," she agreed. It would be nice to sit down and just spend some time with Tyler, to take her mind off of what had happened. She could even use the time to plan out exactly what each arrangement should look like, just to ensure optimal aesthetic and 'get well soon' vibes. "You really think a party would be a good idea? I just worry that it would be, well, in bad taste. Or, like, cursed or something. Like, what if I have it and then it gets attacked?"
"Music to my ears," Tyler grinned. He hated to see her upset, especially when she'd tried so hard to play it normal. New normal. Tyler just wanted to make sure she was okay, and hopefully brighten up her day some. "I think having something to look forward to helps. I think we're better together, than apart. I think that taking a minute to eat chips and laugh with our friends is a good idea," he answered, but her point stood. He wanted to say that wouldn't happen, but how could he guarantee that? "Hey...," he said softly, kissing the back of her hand before smiling, "...we can invite Greg. I think that's enough to scare any monsters away."
In the harsh light of day, Tyler was surer than ever that something had happened between Robbie and Isabel last night. The fact that Jamie was here, too, might have been delaying the inevitable, but Tyler felt it was only a matter of time. Robbie, the second-biggest gossip he had ever known, had to be bursting at the seams. As they all congregated in his room, Tyler was eyeing the place suspiciously when he saw it. "Robbie... why is there a perfect pile of loose buttons here?" @broho-jesse
Jesse couldn't contain his stupid grin as Tyler said 'typical'. He didn't know what was funnier–Robbie forgetting about them in favour of a pretty girl, when he would be so mad at them for doing the same, or... "You still think she's pretty?" He asked in a sing-song voice. Obviously Isabel was pretty, but that might have been the first compliment he had ever heard Tyler give her. And then he said that. "Oh, come on. Surely not." Jesse's brows were disappearing into his hairline at the implication. Sure, there had been vibes, and intense eye contact, and somehow banter? But surely they hadn't snuck off to hook up. Right? "There was a literal earthquake–a full moon!–it's disaster central out there, and you think–?" He scoffed, "She laughed at his promposal. She wouldn't–... Okay, so she's already had her way with you, and she thought she'd kissed me... Dude, do you think Isabel has a thing for nerds?"
"First of all, enough of that," Tyler scolded, pointing an accusatory finger at Jesse as he did that little sing-song voice. "Isabel is fine, whatever. I'm only commenting for the sake of painting a picture here. I'm far too evolved to be lured by siren song, but our man Robbie... Well." Jesse's eyebrows were headed off the planet while Tyler stayed standing strong in his theory. He nodded as Jesse listed off the disasters of the day, only seeing them as all the more evidence of this torrid affair. Damn, though. She did lowkey kill him when he promposed... A lifetime ago, mind you. "Well, it's not like she wanted me for my rockin' bod at the time, man," he tutted. "Dude, she totally has a thing for nerds. And I hate to say it but, you know. Let's call a spade a spade."

Jesse nudged him a second time, a little rougher than before, when he asked for five more minutes; now was not the time for five more minutes. "Gone." He confirmed, shrugging his shoulders dramatically at his next question. "I'm as in the know as you are, man. I just woke up." He took a second to look around, noting that Isabel's jacket was still draped over the table she had been perched on earlier that evening. "Maybe Rob showed her to one of the spare rooms?" And just left them on the couch? Rude.
Tyler yawned as Jesse confirmed their current situation. He was more concerned with finding them both a real bed than where Robbie-and-Isabel had gone. He appreciated Jesse's concern, though. "Tell me about it," he said, stretching out as best he could. Hours or years could have passed, he'd have no idea. "That would make sense, yeah. Show our Rob a pretty girl who could kill him with her bare hands, and he'll forget all about his best boys. I hate to say it, but typical." Tyler paused then, turning over a thought in his head. Thinking about everything he'd heard Isabel say earlier, about every time she and Robbie had interacted - or, more interestingly, hadn't interacted - tonight. "Unless..."
