Jane Austen gets a lot of credit (correctly, obv) for writing banger romance and biting satire about class but I don't think we spend nearly enough time talking about how she absolutely clowns on vanity and self-importance.
the thing about fiber art that nobody tells you about is that every single kind of fiber art is a gateway drug to other kinds of fiber art.

Something about growing up thinking you need to be perfect to be loved and how healing isn’t deciding you are perfect and can do no wrong but realizing your imperfections don’t make you less worthy, and love isn’t something you earn, then looking back on your mistakes, accepting them and growing into a better person who will never be perfect but can be kind
Something about relating to sophie because she was gifted yet insecure and even with loving families tied her self worth to what she could do for others, never feeling like she truly had a place, like she was allowed to just exist
Something about how the series, instead of having sophie gain confidence through learning that she’s worth more than what she can give others and doesn’t need to save the world to be loved, but continuing to do her best to make the world better anyways, because she’s a caring person, while not constantly neglecting her health to do so, makes her character growth based on the fact that she is powerful and sacrifices constantly and validation from others
Something about how her arc isn’t “you are imperfect and that’s ok. You are worthy of love because you exist, and you have a place here with us.” But rather, “you are so powerful and kind and constantly sacrifice for others and that’s why we love you. That’s why you’re awesome.”
Something about how this leaves the core issue unresolved and prevents satisfying character growth
Occasionally someone posts a screenshot and I realize not everyone is on dark mode
being a jack of all trades is dope as fuck honestly. it's like I'm doing crop rotation inside my own brain
I think about this like once a day

what tweaks me out about kotlc timeline is that sophie says that foxfire is 1000 years old, but brontë says he attended foxfire as a child, but brontë confirmed he is at least 5000 years old?
no fr there are so many plot holes. Like where were elven children being educated before this? Because elves have been around for way longer
Sometimes getting educated is hard because then you reread your favorite book series from your childhood and realize the author had no clue what they were talking about
I'm honestly surprised none of the elves have tried to overthrow council earlier.
maybe they have but no one realizes because teaching history isn’t prioritized and the council members erase uncomfortable memories
kotlc elves be like:
glad I’m not the only one

Guys like I wrote a post analysing Sophie's character in Stellarlune but yk how disorganize my thoughts can be so I decided to steal Stira's anti-keefe rant formula and back it up with quotes, but then it ended up being an anti-Sophie rant and idk what to do now. Like Sophie is such a heavily misunderstood character (in my experience) with seeing a lota ppl acting like she has no flaws. (Idk about ppl, sorry if I'm misunderstanding y'all, i just haven't seen many good Soph takes) But I rlly like Soph, I've never found a character I project more on than her, and I'm a Sophlover. So K really don't wanna start a Sophie hate train, especially as nowadays shez getting a bit more of hate. So advice?
Guys stop liking this thing and start giving me advice!
I also love sophie, and I think you can criticize her without hating. Maybe try pointing out ways her flaws and mistakes are ignored by the narrative and how that prevents her from growing as a character?
once i permanently get rid of my headaches then you'll all see
