so in case anyone was curious as to why i’m so against anyone buying this book, here you go. screenshotted straight from page 284, stephenie meyer, a middle aged white woman, made a “joke” about her main character slaughtering a tribe of native people*. a group of native people, i might add, that is real, and was never consulted on the use of their histories for the series. they were never consulted, they never gave permission, and they were never compensated. they have faced negative actions directly from this series, and every penny you chose to give to stephenie meyer and the twilight saga perpetuates this racism. money talks. there are far, far better places to spend your money.

and then you have the humans at school like: “oh my GOD the cullens adopted aNoThEr one?! where are they getting all of these ridiculously attractive teenagers from?” and its especially realistic if you picture jessica saying that lol

and then you have bree confiding in bella and bella confiding in her when she turns into a vampire and learns how to cope with everything. like the possible interactions we could’ve had with bella and bree are so cutee😔

and even cuter is bree being renesmee’s big sister. 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺

Right now, I want to highlight the Quileute Move to Higher Ground project. This cause is imperative to the Twilight fandom in particular, because we consume content which contains the use of the Quileute name and misappropriation of their culture without financial compensation (in an ideal world, nothing would’ve been done without their permission and smeyer would’ve paid them millions and this project wouldn’t even be necessary, but sadly we live in a very broken world and the situation is what it is). In more or less words, their culture was stolen and misused for the creation of the Twilight saga.

Please consider donating if you are able to, even if it’s just a few dollars! If you are unable to donate, the very least you can do is read about their actual culture, learn about it, and help to educate others who have been misinformed/only get their info from the Twilight series. It would be great if everyone got involved to the fullest extent of their abilities to provide support where it’s needed and to show that real people mean so much more to us as a fandom than some stupid fictional books.
