Today was my first real experience with home sickness. Today if felt like EVERYONE wanted to talk about New Orleans and all of its greatness. It was either some one who had been before and they wanted to talk about all the fun they had, or some one who wanted to go and needed to know the places they sound stop at. All of that on top of not being in the presence of my momma, not having any real friends near, and seeing every ones IG post from Essence caused me to have a breakdown. This breakdown was very short lived because I hate being emotional. In hind sight I feel like this was something that needed to happen. This moment was inevitable. I just couldn't give New Orleans up cold turkey and think I would be ok. Now that it has happened, I am able to move forward from it.
Seattle Pride
In Seattle pride is a huge deal. When I say pride I mean gay pride. Back in New Orleans gay pride events were not really something I went to. Here during pride week its something you cant get around. Like literally its every where during pride week. There are flags every where, huge parade downtown, big party in the Seattle Center. It is new to me to see a city so open minded. New Orleans is a pretty easy city to be gay in. For the most part I feel like ppl tolerate the lifestyle, but here there is a bigger feeling of acceptance. I was not able to go to many of the events because of work the I did go up to Capitol Hill one night. It was like 1/8 of what Mardi Gras in New Orleans would be look like. Considering the size of Mardi Gras that is still kinda major.
The First Couple Days.
The first couple days of being a southern boy in a huge city were amazing!! Everything here is new to me. The ppl, the weather, public transit. All things I never experienced back home. I get lost every time I leave my house, but that is all apart of the fun. Each day is a new experience. I find myself wondering around Downtown Seattle for hours upon hours every chance I get. I'm not yet sure if this is the city for me but I am glad that I made the choice to leave New Orleans. I love my city, and I don't think there is a better place on this earth but I was time I experienced something new. I am very optimistic about what is to come of this.
I get lost almost every time it leave the house, but I always discover something new. This almost reminded me of the river walk. #iMissedNewOrleansForLikeASecond #SomeWhereInSeattle #iHaveToRememberToComeBack

Day 10: I decided to ride the train today. It's was very interesting to say the least. This was the third day of what seemed like endless interviews and walking up and down hills. My legs, feet, and brain hurt! GN! βοΈ#SomeWhereInSeattle #iGottaGetUsedToPiblocTransit #AndWalking #SomeBodyBetterHireMe #ImDone #UntilNextWeek #KensAntomy
Day 3: I started out on a job hunt then ran across this big a** Ferris wheel. I couldn't not take a ride. After that I ended up lost in Pike Place Market. Then I stopped by the first ever Starbucks to get a coffee. I got lost on Capital Hill for about 30 min then finally found my car. #TodayWasAGoodDay #FlyingSolo #iHaveNoOtherChoice #iWasScaredAllTheWayUpThere #Seattle #CapitalHill #PikePlaceMarket β« Music: Tank And The Bangas - Roller Coaster @thinktank2013
