I love how this represents a fundamental shift in elections and media/advertising by campaigns. Meme culture and increasing public awareness of information through social networks. This is the next evolutionary step (technologically speaking) from those old attack ads that (still) make you hate watching television during the election cycle.Â
Theyâre going viral. Which is nothing new. Thatâs the whole point of campaign slogans after all. But I think targeted social media presence and an ability to keep up with viral meme culture going to play a huge role in this upcoming election. And theyâre all old people several steps behind the information lag, but I think recruiting an effective social media team is going to be more relevant than ever (which imo is part of the growing success of the virtually unknown Sanders campaign).
The above is a joke. Itâs petty bickering probably by interns with enough tech savvy to know how to work the technologies involved quickly enough to have that kind of communication, but itâs only a sign of things to come.
