gdcg manhwa scanlation reviews: (checking for ch 3)

(out of all the ones i checked, no one tl'd the sfx... smh... am i the only one who did...😭)

vortex scans: bad... awkward tl, glaring mistakes, weird lettering, couldnt get past a few panels before i got annoyed... NEXT

flamecomics: better.. nicer lettering choices... but im still noticing some choices i disagree w or that i think i did better lol (rubs nose) as well as several mistakes... some parts sound awkward... some r better than mine... i guess all TLs naturally have their ups and downs so i cant rly fault them

(note: out of all the tl they're the only one who kept "baek saheon-ssi" instead of "mr. baek saheon")

thunderscans: alr noticing major mistakes and awkward wordings a few panels in... ok im reading the rest of it and it's not bad at parts... some parts are natural and some parts are glaringly wrong which is kinda sus... also why did they remove the kr titlecard credits🚩...

some of the wording sounds strange... but other parts arent bad... i think the mistakes are a bit more offputting than flamecomics but some of the wording also sounds better than flamecomics...

is it arrogant to say I like my own tl best so far? dmcndnd (rubs nose)

resetscans:

hmm theyre using "the dark" instead of "darkness" for 어둠... not wrong but i dont prefer it

noticing some mistakes already, but the wording isnt horrible for the most part. i like some parts and dislike others

So far all these tl's are "ok" but i havent found one that sounds significantly better than mine...

like thunderscans they made a rly weird sus error early on... and also pronoun mistakes... that make me go ? (im always on the lookout for possible MTL evidence and if it's mistakes that can be easily resolved w context im like🤔)

both thunderscans and resetscans went w "manager" for 과장 (flamecomics went w "section chief")

quite a few errors so far... i do have to give them props for at least most of the sentences sounding natural tho.. now that im comparing, a lot of flamecomics sentences sounded awkward as well, and they did make mistakes... flamecomics is losing points in my eyes now.

But so far resetscans is making too many errors imo... Like even if it sounds natural, that's not what the original korean is saying... so i just dont feel like i can trust them... so i think i'll ultimately pass on this one too..

"i want to help too" instead of "throw up" <-????? how did they even make that mistake...??? did they misread it??? v odd mistake bc the letters dont even look similar..

lots of awkward clunky wordings in this one... but aside from that one weird misTL it seems mostly accurate..? i think it's a human tl but theyre not proofreading well....(ironically i feel like the wording is too awkward to be mtl dkjfkdd like i feel like mtl is p advanced nowadays)

they're going w "horror story" instead of "ghost story"... i mean its not wrong, but i dont like it lol

the worst wording so far... it's so awkward and stiff... def not what im looking for in a good tl. it's crazy how smth as simple as lack of contractions can make such a huge diff omg... i wonder if they're not a native speaker..?

if u can ignore the clunky lack of contractions, it's actually a decently accurate tl... unfortunately natural wording is one of the big things i look for in a good tl... so this does knock it down a lot for me. but the accuracy might put it above resetscans even tho i like their wording better... ig it's on a similar lvl with qi scans but def the worst wording so far... which kills immersion when reading so i dont recommend. Next!

asurascans: i was tipped off that this one has very noticeable errors/possibly MTL... but i'll check it just in case (well they list their team credits so i'm sure its mostly not mtl.. i hope..)

"records of dark exploration" uh... i dont like it lol. are they tl'ing 어둠 as "dark" then..? (it's a noun)

so far the wording is surprisingly not bad tho... not perfect tho... maybe they're a human who just makes mistakes sometimes...

LMAO THAT TITLE??? is good (i just hope it's not AI... if it's human drawn it's good...)

ohp they mis tl 아아악 as CRASH fsr.. it's clearly screaming. minor error but odd

they made 1 major error at the end oop. i cant say anything bc its clearly a formatting error(repeated the same dialogue twice) and not proof of MTL tho... but it's def a problem if this happens often

huh. despite the tip off i was given this actually might be the best one so far... there r errors but less than some of the other ones (none is error free so far) and the wording is relatively natural. it seems like they do make noticeable errors based on the warning but if im comparing w the kr raws as i go maybe it'll be ok... that's just what im looking for... one that's "good enough" so i can fill in the blanks by checking the raws... 😭

AFTER COMPARING 9 DIFF SCANLATIONS... sadly none are perfect but some of them are worse than others (i dont rec vortexscans valirscans, hivetoons, or timelesstoons and thundertoons, qiscans, flamecomics and resetscans also had errors/problems..) i tentatively might go w asurascans... i Think it had the least problems FOR THIS ONE CH idk abt other chs. asurascans wins this one ch except for the glaring mistakes... i just hope theyre not too frequent...
